Clea's dreams get worse. This time there's a physical price to pay.
Again with the dream. The large figure reached out for her but instead of waking up suddenly like always, Clea found that she couldn't. Just a dream, just a DREAM! There was a burning sting when Clea reached up to block the the swipe of claws. Looking down at her arm, Clea saw blood dripping down her elbow onto the ground. It hurt so badly. "Clea, wake up!" She yelled at herself as the figure came at her again.
"CLEA! WAKE UP!" The sounds of her own screams caused her to jolt awake and the crashing sounds of books toppling over with a chair. Taking a look around her surroundings she was back in the library. "Ow." She hissed and lifted her right arm to see that the deep cuts were still there.
Topaz was a few rows over, shelving books on a step stool, on her tiptoes, trying to reach the top shelves. It was a very precarious position.
So it was no surprise when Clea's screams nearly sent her toppling over. She caught herself, barely, and instantly jumped off the stool, running to see where she had last seen the girl. "Clea?" She called, turning the corner - and freezing when she saw Clea bleeding on the floor.
There were two things going through Clea's mind. One, was her dream real? And Two, she got blood on one of the books and how mad would Topaz be. Hearing her naming being called, Clea looked up at Topaz, "I am sorry." Wincing as she placed her hand over it to keep it from bleeding but her arm was already covered. "Something got me."
"Something?" Topaz repeated, going to kneel beside Clea to look at her arm. She'd had enough basic first-aid training to know how to handle an injury like this. She pulled her long-sleeved shirt and wrapped it around the injured arm to stem it. "Was there an animal? Come on, up, keep your arm elevated..."
"I don't know." Clea looked under the table and around as she lifted her arm up and winced again. It was by sheer fear that she wasn't balling at the moment. "I feel asleep and he..." Clea looked down as if she was embarrassed. "I was attacked in my dream and the wound I received in my dream is the same as this."
Topaz's first thought, weirdly, was that there was a movie about that. She shook it off quickly. "Okay. Let's get you to the med lab." Her voice was surprisingly gentle. It was an odd story, but she wasn't going to dismiss it right away. Not until they had all the facts. "I'll call Amanda when we're down there and we can start looking into this. You alright to walk?"
Clea nodded as she was helped to her feet but it was the sudden feeling of the world spinning. "Woah. The world spun."
"Easy," Topaz said quickly, grabbing Clea to steady her. "You need a 'port down to the med lab or do you think you can walk?"
"I want to say I am fine but my legs are a bit wobbly." The fear started to subside and the throbbing pain started to take its place. "It hurts."
"Alright, here." Topaz carefully helped Clea to a chair and made her sit before pulling out her phone. "Hang tight."
