Wade seeks Molly out to give her a rundown of a few precautionary measures he's put in places...

The sweet sounds of AC/DC played from Molly's (shared) lab. She sat at one of the tables wearing headgear that a magnifying glass on it as she tweaked a very tiny screw on a piece of machinery.

Putting her tools down, she headed back over to her desk, lined with Harry Potter and DC Comics Funko pops, and typed something down on her laptop before opening the mini fridge covered in eclectic magnets underneath the desk and grabbing a bottle of juice.

"But the frequency's not matching up," she muttered to herself.

Wade had propped himself up against the door frame as he watched Molly work. It'd been years since that first time she ran through the mansion and knocked the breath out of him, and she'd done a lot of growing up since then -- more than she should've, technically, but... that was better left unthought right now. "Heya, half-pint," he said, pushing away from the door and stepping into the lab. "Mind if I interrupt?"

Glancing up, Molly gave Wade a bright grin. "Wademan!" she said, hopping up from her chair to give him a hug.

"It's totally not interrupting. Mi....laboratorio es su....laboratorio," she added, waving her hand across the room exaggeratedly.

"Muchos gracias," Wade said, chuckling as he returned the hug. "It's looking good down here. Dunno why you guys need all these labs underground, but you've got a good setup." Reaching over toward her desk, he nudged one of the figurines a little farther away from the edge of Molly's desk, then pulled a fairly thick packet of paper from beneath his arm and raised his eyebrows.

"De nada," Molly said, then added with an excited not-exactly-a-whisper. "Angelo's been teaching me Spanish."

It took her a moment to notice the giant packet and she arched a brow. "Are we going on a mission?" she said. Molly's default mode was excited but the question was a bit more so. "You'll have to make sure to keep up with it. Spanish is a valuable language to know," Wade offered. Then he quirked another smile and said, "Not a mission. This is just something I set up for you a while back and I wanted to make sure you knew about it, understood it and all that. Especially since you'll be hitting up college soon." He nodded to the table and set the folder down as he hooked another stool and dragged it over so he could flip through the file with her.

By now Molly was looking pretty confused and sat down next to him. "Um...okay," she said. Her eyes widened as he continued flipping.

"That's...a whole lot of zeroes, Wademan."

"It's for school," Wade asid. "I mean, that's what this one over here is for." He indicated a particular page. "You've got... three accounts. The school one you'll have access to as soon as you get an acceptance or enrollment confirmation -- however they're doing those these days. Then it'll pay for your classes, your supplies... if you go somewhere you need accommodations, it'll pay for that, too. Once you've finished school, it'll roll over into the second account. That's for... I don't know life stuff. If you wanna get an apartment or buy a car or... whatever." Then he grinned. "Or if you want a some labspace of your own off mansion property. Just don't go all mad-scientist, this isn't enough to finance world domination."

Molly was silent, listening to Wade explain how she had suddenly become Batman, when a thought occurred to her.

"What about the third account?"

"The third account's... got the most in it. It's fully half of the total for all three combined. And it's your emergency fund, okay? This is for... if anything happens and, for whatever reason, you need to run." Flipping another page, Wade pointed to a list of locations and codes. "These are safehouses for you. No one else knows about them, not even my Wheeze. The one on the bottom is the most secure. It's your last resort, okay? Biometric security system, electronic weapons system, ridiculous precautions and traps... it's completely off the grid, runs on solar power -- and it's got everything in it that I could think of that you might want or need to stay there for an extended period of time, as well as two ways to get to it that'll keep you off CCTV cameras.

"Over the next several years, money will be moving out of the emergency account and into a variety of other, smaller accounts that are accessible by your aliases... which I kind of already took the liberty of setting up." He turned another page and gestured toward a second list. "This is them, as well as the various locations of caches of information that you'll need to access them. I want you to understand that all of this is... literally my own particular brand of paranoia, but if something ever happens to me, I want you to be ready for it -- I want you to be prepared."

Molly blinked at him for a moment, opened her mouth, which came out like a faint squeak/grunt, then closed it. Her eyebrows furrowed.

"I don't know what to say."

"Yay!" Wade raised his hands and did jazzfingers at her. "School's paid for, you can buy a house or a business or something... just focus on those parts," he said, giving her a rueful smile as he curled his arm around her shoulders and gave her a sideways hug.

Molly eyed him curiously, still trying to understand what was going on.

"That something happening isn't going to be soon, is it? It's not the cancer again, is it?" Her eyes widened.

"No, no," Wade said, shaking his head. "Nothing like that. It's just, you're at that point, y'know? Where you're going out into the world and taking charge of your life. I wanted to make sure you could do that without having to worry too much about money. And then I got paranoid about it, thinking of worst case scenarios, so I beefed that up a little."

Molly let out a breath, her shoulders slumping with relief.

"Aw dude, I totally had a heart attack for a minute," she said, hugging him on reflex. She leaned back.

"What's a Wheeze?"

"You know, Wheezy-wheeze. My tech guy outside the mansion," Wade said. "And sorry I gave you a heart attack. But I wanted you to have this information. I think you should keep it under wraps. There're banks in the city with high security lock boxes and safety deposit boxes... or however it's easiest for you to keep it safe."

Molly finally nodded. "Okay. Um....cool," she said. This was a lot to take in.

"Banks, I guess." She sat there a moment, taking a drink of her juice.

"I applied for a like...a lot of schools."

"That's good," Wade said, nodding. "You wanna be able to check out all your options. Make informed decisions and stuff. That's important."

Molly giggled. "Dude, you sound like a dad," she said.

Half-smiling, Wade shrugged. "Had a little practice, the last few years. I just wanna make sure you can do whatever you want with your life, y'know? And I've got something similar set up for Maya."

Leaning against him, Molly smiled. "Yeah, I know, Wademan," she said.

"I'm just giving you crap."

She took a sip of her juice, realizing she still had her magnifying headgear on, then took them off and set it on the table.

"What'd Maya say when you told her?"

"Haven't told her," Wade said, shaking his head. "I'm gonna wait until she's decided where she's applying to school and stuff. Y'know, if she wants to take a year off to do Green Peace or something."

Molly smirked. "She might need the money for like...bail. Especially if she gets all passionated and makes cops mad in other countries."

Laughing a little, Wade shook his head and squeezed Molly's shoulders, then pulled his arm back. "Nah, give her some credit. She's been getting better -- still has her issues, but they're not as bad as they used to be. Anyway, if my paranoia turns out to've been my common sense tingling and something happens to me, you're in charge of making sure Maya knows about all this and how it works. She'll get a packet in the mail, but it might be kinda confusing."

Molly made a face. "Do I have to? She and I kinda....don't get along. I tried to be nice."

"I'd appreciate it, if I'm not here to do it," Wade said. "Doesn't have to be a full-on lecture. Just the highlights."

Glancing down, Molly finally shrugged. "Okay. But you totally owe me. Hot fudge sundaes for the next two--three Saturdays."

"Deal," Wade said, offering his hand to shake. "We can get started today, how's that sound?"

Molly shook his hand. "Deal. But next Sunday, maybe? I really gotta get this stuff done for Clint," she said, pouting.

"Stupid grownup rules."
