Kurt and Ty breach the walls of Troy in whatever shape or form they can then go back for the others.
The roar of battle sounded from below them and there was a brief silence before the work on the Trojan Horse resumed with more fervor. Kurt and Ty had long made their way past where the Trojan Horse was and reached the gates of Troy itself, which were soundly shut against all comers. The guards peering over the stockade and through slits in the wall itself had made them pause behind a large rock formation next to a small copse of trees. The question now became how to get through the wall.
"How deep are your shadows?" Kurt asked Ty quietly. "I would rather neither of us be shot full of arrows."
"Depends on what I have to work with," Ty murmured back. "There's enough to keep us from becoming the next big thing in pin cushions. We've got to stick to what's already there, though. Pulling them too far would be suspicious."
Kurt nodded. "So as long as we stay well away from the fires and do not move too quickly, we should go unnoticed. Or so we can hope, at least."
He glanced up at the wall, trying to pick their moment to go when all the guards were looking away. Then enveloped in Ty's shadows, Kurt began the slow and careful climb up the wall, midway between the sentry towers, so he could see inside.
Thanks to Ty's shadows and the commotion going on on the open plains below the guards didn't see Kurt. They were more focused on who would be the victor: their heroes or the Greeks they were fighting. There had been few good tidings for the side of the Trojans for much of the war. The changing fortunes of the last fortnight had been reinvigorating and disheartening in equal measure. As a result, Kurt reached the top of the wall unmolested and had a clear view of this corner of the city. Now, he could get the others and hopefully they could figure a way out of this.
The walls of Troy have been breached and in the ensuing chaos everyone has to find each other again because their chance of survival is better in larger numbers. And in the off chance this is a Danger Room scenario gone wrong like they hope, no one wants to get accidentally left behind.
The alarms had gone off in Troy and there was movement everywhere. Women and children were heard screaming in panic. The few men that hadn't already been lost in battle to the Greeks were readying themselves to defend their homes and families. The old and infirm were being hurried toward what meager shelter was left in the city. Intruders had been detected and that meant Troy didn't have much longer.
Kurt immediately snapped to attention, looking for the others... and one in particular. "Meggan! Everyone, we must stick close, or we may be swept apart."
Meggan successfully dodged a few people that were running blindly in their terror. Turning, she finally caught sight of Kurt. “Kurt,” she called out in relief. She was just as grateful to find her brother’s face in the chaos; she knew he was right, too. “Should we all hold hands and form a chain or something, just to be certain we’re not?”
Logan dodged a spear wielding Trojan trotting toward the sounds of battle and tried to locate a spot where they could stay out of the fray. "No, I don't think so. That'll make us stick out and force questions. Keep an eye out for an alcove or small alley way between buildings. That'll serve us best."
Sharon quickly pulled up a child that had fallen over before falling back slightly so she could keep an eye towards keeping the group together. "This is a pile of horse shit." She commented, then worriedly look over at Ty who was carrying Clea. "Her breathing still stable?"
Ty could feel the expansion of her chest, but leaned down to listen just to be safe. "Slow and even," he replied.
"If you need me to take a turn carrying her, just let me know", Kurt offered. "And there is an alleyway a hundred yards forward - if we are separated in the rush, meet there."
Meggan nodded, confirming that she understood, too. “Got it.” While she hadn’t spotted the alleyway in the rush of people, she expected that she could find it. At least she wasn’t dragging Clea on the ground anymore; she doubted that doing that over rockier ground would be good for her, after that zap.
"Let's make our way toward it now while we're still together," Logan said. "We'll wait for everythin' to settle a bit then make our way out of the city. Don't wanna be mistaken for Trojans when the Greeks sweep through."
