Warren gets out of rehab and has a serious discussion with Bobbi.

The first day out of treatment felt like well...getting out of jail.

It wasn't that he was stuck there, with no options. He could have left at any time, but all he could picture was how disappointed everyone would be with him -- more than they were now.

And Bobbi was counting on him to smarten up, and be a better person for them. He could do that. He knew he could. So he finished his 6 weeks, even stayed a bit longer than needed, got the little certificate and walked out into the world with a head clearer than he could remember. When DID he start drugging and drinking himself into oblivion? How long had it been? Years. Decades.

Well. That was all changing.

Going back home was amazing. Having Bobbi around was amazing. Just being able to be him with her was amazing. It made him happy, and this morning, he was incredibly happy. After a luxurious shower, he'd received a call that had changed everything. Stepping into the kitchen, he brushed a kiss on Bobbi's head before reaching for the coffee mug she'd so graciously poured for him.

"So. That was my dad," he started off, adding a bit of milk to his cup. "Wanna guess what he had to say? And before you ask, no, it wasn't an invite for dinner so you're saved from that hell."

"His loss, I would've made an excellent dessert," Bobbi replied. "Or, well, I would've picked something really nice up and brought it with me, but either way." She shrugged and took a sip from her own cup of coffee. "What was it, then?"

Warren rolled his eyes. HE would have made the dessert, and watched Bobbi hand it over, but that was besides the point. Now that he had her attention, he suddenly felt a little trepidation. "He seems to want to make amends," Warren started slowly, not sure how to word what he was presenting. "I'm allowed to go back to the company, resume my role as COO." He took a sip of his coffee and blew the hot liquid with a face. Too hot. "But not here in New York. How do you feel about relocating? To somewhere different ... like maybe ... Switzerland..."

She raised an eyebrow at that. "That's... that's somewhere different, alright. I thought you were going to say Chicago or maybe even L.A." Those places would be different enough, but Switzerland? "Is it a permanent move, or just a temporary one?"

"Permanent. Something something tax haven, moving the international headquarters to somewhere ---well, international." Warren swirled his coffee lightly in his cup and gave her one of his dazzling grins. "I'm game. I could use a change of pace and really, when is anything permanent? It could last a year, it could last 15. Wouldn't it be funny to have our kids speak French?" He raised an eyebrow. "You could be my assistant. Learn to terrify everyone like Jolene does, since that cow won't move with me." He shook his head. "I mean, whatever happened to loyalty? She could pick up her entire family too and move. Priorities. Geez."

Bobbi blinked at the mention of kids, but didn't get a chance to say anything before he'd moved on to magnanimously offer him a job as his assistant. "The nerve," she faux-agreed with a smirk. "It does sounds like a real change of pace, one that wouldn't be all that bad. Plus I'd be pretty close to CERN then..." Her scientific side really liked the sound of that. "What about XFI though?" Aside from friends and family, Bobbi would really miss the role she played there.

"I'd have to give it over to Lorna." Which really, was what was happening now. Warren was merely funding it. He'd shown up to talk to the team, and then all that business with the Juggernaut started... sigh.

"We can always start a new one there. The Swiss have excellent trenchcoats." Warren was ready to make a few more jokes before he caught himself. "It's a big thing. I know. It's up to you. I mean...I want this. Bad. But I've been selfish before. I don't want to do this without you, babe."

"And chocolate." That thought hadn't escaped Bobbi's mind either. Not that chocolate was all there was to life, but hey, it didn't hurt. "It is a big thing, for sure." They'd been through a lot of big things over the last few years, not all of it good either. There was one thing Bobbi realized after everything as well, and that was that she didn't want to be without Warren either. If that meant packing up and moving to Switzerland, well...

"And I don't want you to go without me. So I guess that settles that, then." She sighed, but a slight smile danced on her lips. "How much notice do you have to give them?" That he'd be accepting, and to XFI that he'd be leaving both, she supposed.

Warren let out a breath he wasn't aware he was holding. Part of him had been worried that Bobbi wouldn't come along ...but that was his own anxieties rearing up. She'd stayed by his side this long, and she loved him. And in a way that love was actually meant to be experienced, not that disaster that his parents had shown him.

"Not much. The current CEO over there, he's set to retire any day. My dad wanted a clear succession plan and well, Warren the Second doesn't wait. He said we could be there as soon as we want, and I'll take over. There's lots to do too -- get a place, figure out the visas, learn the commute ..." Impulsively, he leaned over and gave her a kiss that was meant to be quick but turned into one of those lingering ones that made him wonder if they really needed to do anything today.

At least anything that existed out of bed.

"We could get married over there too if you wanted," he murmured into her mouth. "Or here. Or Vegas. Anywhere. I love you, Bobbi."

"I love you too." That was the first and best place to start. Warren was right, there was a lot to do before they left. Bobbi hadn't even started to think about what she'd need to do, but she knew that she'd have to start a list soon enough to make sure she covered everything.

"One step at a time first, though, tiger." Marriage sounded like a good idea to her, but she was going to need more of a formal proposal than that, buster. For the time being, however, she was content to remain in his arms and put the worrying about their future on hold for just a little while longer.
