Jubilee and Shogo meet. It's as weird as you think it would be.

Jubilee sighed softly as she paused for a moment at the top of the mansion stairs. She was due for a physiotherapist session in about an hour and the idea of simply getting there was already exhausting. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to get better, she did. Amanda’s healing could only take her so far given that there had been others hurt as well.

The pain had never been something she enjoyed though and honestly? The neck brace and inability to train or go out on missions were making her just about climb the walls. She was going to have to talk to Marie-Ange about giving her desk work to do. Also about throwing some people at her contacts while she was out for the count, so to speak. It wasn’t like she was the only one who could people wrangle anyway.

That was roughly the condition Shogo found her in, after he actually, you know, found her. He hadn't expected it to be that hard, but apparently, past Mom hadn't developed all the habits that Mom-Mom had, because she'd not been anywhere he'd thought to look. She also hadn't been hanging upside down in the closet like Mom-Mom had told him she might be, but Shogo was beginning to suspect that he was being messed with again.

...she didn't look good. Like she'd lost a fight with a garlic bulb. Maybe he'd actually succeed in sneaking up on her this time! ...nah. Stupid vampire senses. Still, it was fun to try.

"You don't look good," he said from off to the side.

Despite not having vampire senses in this current universe, although present Jubilee would have laughed at even having to think that thought, Jubilee’s spy senses were just as acute after years of practice. She’d heard Shogo’s footsteps before he’d made it within stabbing distance, not that she knew who he was.

“Kid, you’ve got a lot, and like, I do mean a lot, to learn about speaking to women if that’s what you lead with,” Jubilee replied as she looked him over. She didn’t remember the mansion getting any new students, not with Chuck off on an island enjoying the brisk Scottish air and Scott not being particularly interested. “You like an exchange student or something? Didn’t even know they’d started up classes again.”

Shogo ticked his head to the side. "...as far as trolling me goes, implying that I'm trying to flirt with you is... really off your game? What happened, did you get into a fight in a crucifix factory again?"

"I suppose that's not the weirdest thing some strange kid has ever said to me."

Jubilee gave him a once over, taking note of his clothing plus the fact he was now giving her what was a decidedly odd look. Somewhere between confusion and...was that nausea? Weird kid. Seemed a little too familiar with her though, definitely a spark of recognition in his eyes even though she had no idea from where. California maybe? Maybe he'd been one of the kids that had watched her perform?

"I don't do autographs, just so you know."

"Eh, I already have it," Shogo said absently, thinking of the numerous school paperwork things that he'd forged his mom's signature on using an old copy of her signature and a pen he invented that writes by itself, but only if he asked it nicely.

"Okay, Mom warned me about this," he muttered to himself. "What did she make me promise? 'Shogo'," he said, slipping into a fairly terrible falsetto impression, "'if you get there and she looks like she lost a fight with an Italian grandmother'..."

He rapped a knuckle upside his head. "Right, the amnesia! Okay. I can work with this."

Jubilee wasn’t sure she had the spoons to deal with a kid this obviously off his rocker. It wasn’t that she wasn’t empathetic to people who were in need of deep levels of therapy. It was just that she was not that therapist, and she didn’t even know how to begin trying to translate what he’d just said into human speech.

“Do you often speak about yourself in the third person?” She asked, letting her curiosity get the better of her

"Oh, that wasn't me!," Shogo said, because oops she heard that. "I was quoting y-- somebody else." Okay. This would be tricky. Can't give too much away, but also can't let her blindly stumble into a church and get turned into a cinder. This would be a delicate balance that would require all of Shogo's finesse, stealth, subtlety, and charisma.

"So... when was the last time you looked in a mirror?"
