Sooraya meets her 'nephew' from another world dimension.

On a hunch she had grabbed the cookies that she knew to be Angel's favorite, though Sooraya had no idea if her son would like them. Still, it couldn't hurt. With a tray with tea and cookies she made her way to the small sitting room she had seen him in just twenty minutes ago and luckily enough he had not moved yet. Carefully she entered the room, trying not to to startle him as she moved into his line of sight.

Nathanial was looking out the window, his arms crossed and his ankles crossed, as he leaned back in a comfortable pose. People often mistaken him for his dad when he was like this and it used to give him pride. Now, it pained him. As he remembered the final moments, his dad sent him out of the mansion to grab their bows in the car and then when he returned... Nate closed his eyes as he relived those moments before he heard the sounds of someone entering.

Opening his eyes again, he saw his Aunt Sooraya entering the room. No, it wasn't his aunt, but it was still comforting all the same. His posture became more relaxed as he unfolded his arms and continued to look at her. His eyes were soft, like a little boy who was seeing a favorite relative after a long time apart.

"You were looking very far away when I just saw you..." Sooraya explained after she had put down the tray and made sure that he could see her face well. She hoped he could read lips. "I thought you could do with some tea." She gestured at the tray in front of her and he looked quite a bit more relaxed then when she had entered.

He took out a pad of paper and wrote down, "It is a lot to take in." He showed her what he wrote before he moved over to the seat near where the tea was set. He signed and reached over for a cookie but looked down as if it was a priceless gem.

Sooraya took her time pouring two mugs of tea and put one in front of him. "You like those?" She asked with a nod to the cookies when he looked up at her.

Nate looked over at Sooraya and gave her a weak smile but nodded. He grabbed the notebook again and wrote, "Mom's favorite. Guess there are more similarities rather than looks." He dropped the pencil and took a bite of the cookie.

"I am glad you like them." Sooraya took one of the cookies herself. "I never really used to like these, till Angel told me they were her favorites. We ended up having them often enough that I also grew to like them." She sipped her tea and hesitated a little before asking. "What was your mom like? If you want to tell me, of course."

Taking another nibble from the cookie as he watched Sooraya speak. He was blessed with his father's powers and lip reading became easy to do. With a cookie in his mouth, he pulled the notebook closer and began to write, and after several minutes he gave her the notebook with a paragraph.

"She was the best mom anyone can ask for. She raised me herself as my dad was always doing stupid shit, but he would turn up occasionally. She was kind, loving, and sometimes had a fiery temper whenever someone messed with her. Literally I saw a guy's ass on fire once. She was supportive and always made time for my school events. We also eventually started to do super hero stuff together when I was older. I could tell she was worried but always told me to do my best. She gave the best hugs and made the best grilled cheese sandwiches, and her love for Disney was a borderline obsession. She could light up a room. I really miss her."

"That sounds a lot like the Angel I know." Sooraya mentioned once she had finished reading. "Great with people and hard to rile, but once you set her off, you better take cover." A few things were also a little different, but there seemed to be enough similarities. "And she loves life so much. I cannot imagine having to miss her... and I can't imagine how much worse this must be for you. I'm so sorry."

Nate chuckled a bit as he read what Sooraya was saying to him. It was the first time he smiled since coming here. He took the paper again and wrote, "It makes me both happy and sad that she is still alive somewhere. Even if she isn't my mom. But if you do see her again, can you tell her that she be a great mom. I wish I would have told her that more."

"I'll do that as soon as I see her again." Sooraya promised him. "Though it's still a little weird to imagine her as a mom... And how about your dad... I've met our Clint, but I'm having a bit of a hard time picturing how they'd get together?"

Pulling the paper close to him and turning it around to write on the other side, "Dad wasn't around much, he was away being the hero. They weren't married, but they were teammates. I suppose that is how they got together. Mom said dad was a flirt. I guess that is where I get my charm from."

Sooraya had to laugh. "And you are just as popular with the ladies and gents as he was? It must have been interesting... growing up at the mansion though. It's kinda hard to imagine this place full of kids... at least young kids."

Nathanial smirked but he was being modest. "I will need more paper if I am going to tell you my life story." He showed it to Sooraya but had a playful grin on his lips. It was the first time since that day where he could relax, even for a second. He made a vow right then and there that he wouldn't let what happened to his world happen here.

"I wouldn't want to hurt your hand." She replied drolly as she took another one of the cookies. "How about you give a highlight or two?" She didn't quite dare to ask about her counterpart yet, though she was intensely curious.

"It is fine. I am used to writing things out for people all the time. Only a few know how to sign for me. I was raised by my grandfathers in NYC, ,my mom in Seattle, and in the mansion. Most of my schooling was done in Seattle. Do you want me to tell you the time I learned I was fireproof?"

"Do tell... knowing Angel's adventures with this, I can only imagine." Sooraya shook her head with a smile, remembering the times when Angel used to carry a small fire extinguisher with her all the time.

A chuckle escaped Nate's lips as he wrote, "It started out when I stole my dad's exploding arrows..."
