Nica literally bumps into Natasha and they head towards the labs.

Nica came out of her room, not sure what she was going to do but feeling she was going to have to do something. Nanites in the mansion? The DR overrun? Alerts going off and then what was that about the Blackbird? She was so torn as to where she should go first that she almost didn't see Natasha coming down the stairs from the third floor almost at a run. Only a quick jump into the visible light spectrum meant that rather than collide, she 'drifted' across Natasha's body like a beam of sunlight.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry!" she managed when the moment had passed and she'd regained her physical form. "I didn't see you there."

There wasn't much Natasha could do other than find the nearest port access to where the nanite infection was running and attempt to code fast enough to block everything from getting corrupted. She'd grabbed a couple of flash drives that were preinstalled with various programs and bits of code she'd used to break through security functions to speed up the process. Those she tossed into a bag she slung across her shoulders which also carried a custom built laptop she used exclusively for stuff like this.

The sensation of a warm bolt of heat floating across her slowed her steps. She turned to Nica. "Hey, no big deal. It happens especially in a unique place like this. You have any idea where we might be of use right now?"

"Well, it seems the Danger Room's covered and Cyclops is taking the Blackbird up to get it clear of these things, so... maybe the labs? There's a lot of tech down there we don't want infected, and I thought maybe I could do something with my powers. You know, EM spectrum and all that?" Nica looked at Natasha as if asking for confirmation, automatically defaulting to seeing her as a superior officer. "At the least we can try evacuating some of the more important things?"

"Good idea. Let's head that way then. I figured they would've been better protected than anywhere else but better safe than sorry." Natasha hated attacks on her homes especially if other people were present. This was their home too after all. It just made Natasha's actions in relation to how to handle things different than they normally would be say if they were in one of her safehouses. She hmmed. "Hopefully the problem's not bad enough where we'd need you to construct an EMP on the fly."

"Yeah, especially since I haven't quite got that far a range yet," was Nica's wry answer. "You want a black light for a party? I'm your gal. Wide-range EMP wave? Not so much." Still, she led the way down to the labs, every sense alert for whatever she might be able to pick up.

"Hey, panic and learning on the fly does incredible things to the human brain," Natasha joked as she followed Nica. She'd had plenty of experience in that herself. Genius came to those that went looking or were trying not to die. It depended on how you looked at it. Though she was concerned that maybe what she'd grabbed on her way out of her suite was shortly going to be useless. She expected nanites were rather indiscriminate about what technology they'd love to devour.

Once the evacuation notice goes out, a team goes to the labs to try to shut them down. It does not go entirely successfully but they slow down the spread of nanites - and learn that Nica can track them.

Bobby led the way toward the tech labs, not quite sure what he was going to do when he got there but knowing that he had to do something. He came to a stop in front of a locked door, a security console's light blinking red to indicate it was locked.

Reaching out, he tried the handle anyway. It didn't budge.

He turned around to Matt and Nat and shrugged. "Well, I'm all out of ideas. Anyone else wanna try?"

"Surely there's a backup system or something?" Matt replied. If it was an old fashioned sort of lock and key, he could pick it, but a digital lock was beyond his senses.

"There's always a backup system and if not, then there's always the old fashioned way of handling things," Natasha said as she came closer to inspect the security console. There were no obvious ports for her to plug in a USB stick and attempt to override the system. They might be able to pry their way into it if needed and she could play around with the wiring that way. She traced her fingers over the outside of the console, trying to find where the power was flowing from.

"Or, you know, I could just open it from the inside?" This was from Nica, who was following Natasha. In a blink of an eye she had ghosted through the door, which clicked open shortly afterwards. "Voila."

"I was just gonna suggest that," Bobby lied, but grinned anyway. "Thanks Nica, you rock." He entered the lab, quickly forming an ice shield on his right arm and holding it up just in case as he looked around and waited for the others to join him. "We're in, so that's, uh. Step one, right?" Hopefully someone else knew the other steps.

"Are you seeing what I'm seeing?" Matt asked, not entirely sure what to make of everything now that the door was open. "It's....making a body?" Please be wrong, please be wrong, he mentally chanted. Maybe his radar was fucking up. That would be really, really, awesome right now.

"Can... is it supposed to be doing that?" Clearly it could, and just as clearly it shouldn't, but there they were. "What do we do about it?" His powers might slow them down if he could freeze them long enough, but Bobby doubted he could stop them completely and he could only keep that up for so long.

"We need to stop it," faltered Nica. "But I'm not sure how - Natasha? So you have anything that will stop it? I can't make an EMP, there's too many wavelengths."

"Stop might be a bit out of reach for what I have with me. It also depends on how much damage we're willing to do." Natasha rifled through her bag and pulled out a variety of Widow's Bites, leaving the USB drives and laptop in the bag. "You can probably amplify the charges on these to where we might fry their circuits enough to drag them out of here but it'll also fry everything else in the lab."

"We can fix damage," Matt stated, "We can't fix....whatever it does. Fry them," shifting his focus slightly, he could hear more skittering in the walls. Did they already have bodies then? Or body bits to create a larger whole? He did not want to know, "They're nearly everywhere."

"Ok, can we fry what's inside here and then, like, lock the door, keep whatever's left trapped inside?" At the very least it'd buy them some time, perhaps. Bobby didn't know much about these things but he was guessing it wouldn't be as easy as simply shutting a door. "I can try and freeze it as solid as possible if that'd help." It was all he could think of at the moment.

"When in doubt, try everything," Nica said at last. "Matt, grab that fire axe over there and start chopping. Natasha and I will work on frying circuits as you separate the pieces, and Bobby can freeze everything at the end. Hopefully that ought to do it."

This was going....to be destructive. Hefting the axe, Matt grinned, "Bustin' makes me feel good," he murmured, turning and opening a hole in the wall so the nanite things could pour out so they could get fried and frozen. Maybe they needed popcorn shrimp after this? Something about this made him think of popcorn shrimp. Maybe he was just hungry? "Think I have a future in construction?"

Natasha scanned the room while Matt was hacking and spotted one of several fire extinguishers scattered throughout the room. She raced over to grab two from their slots then placed herself in a position with clear aim at the haphazard hole being carved into the wall. "Maybe, but you won't win any design competitions."

As the nanites began pouring out, she scattered a few Bites within reach of the wall for Nica to use as an electrical spark and sprayed the fire extinguisher at the ones headed toward them in hopes they'd end up frozen or at least stunned. "We have a few tanks of liquid nitrogen in the back if someone wants to grab them!"

"Don't worry about the liquid nitrogen, I've got this," Bobby said. He raised both arms and closed his eyes, drawing in his energy before letting it flow out of him, quickening the stream to a torrent and then an all-out avalanche of cold. He hadn't drained himself like this in some time, and he fought to drop the temperature as low as he could, covering every inch of the room in ice that grew whiter and thicker before their eyes. It looked like it was working, but he couldn't tell from the snow and ice flying through the air. It would slow them down at least.

While the others were busy, Nica had stepped back, her eyes tracking something in the distance. Was that...? She blinked, shifted into a different energy level, and things swam into focus. "Hey guys?" she called out. "I can SEE these things. And where they're coming from. Natasha, can you come with me? I think I can backtrack them to the source of all this crazy." And with that, leaving the boys to continue their work, Nica was gone, using the door and corridor only as a courtesy to her 'bodyguard' following.
