Topaz, Felicia, Wanda, and Kevin hit the High Note. Trays of themed spirits are imbibed.

It wasn't often to find several members of Snow Valley working late on any given night. For Wanda, it was a specific translation she'd been waiting on finally coming in and in Kevin's case, it was hearing the plans of most of the other mansion inhabitants and deciding to give the mansion a wide berth. However, as they finally knocked off and waited by the elevator, he could almost hear the excited texts Wanda was tapping into her phone right before she informed him they were meeting co-workers for a drink. He'd hoped some high end place in the city. Or at least Finnigans. Instead, he found himself on the way to High Note while Wanda teased him about being the Halloween version of the Grinch.

Instead, the bar was busy and the door halted them both. "Ten dollar cover unless you have a costume."

"We're wearing costumes."

"And you are?"

"J. Edgar Hoover. This is Ma Baker." The doorman, not getting the references, instead took in Kevin's expensive suit and decided to let it go. After all, he'd seen them both before and knew from the staff that they tipped well. They walked through the hall, now lit with red bulbs and into the main room. Kevin motioned with his chin. "You go find the others. I'm going to get... all of the drinks from the bar."

"I am actually wearing a costume," she remarked to his back with a sniff. Though really, dressing up as Evelyn from the Mummy movies wasn't that far of a departure for her. Wanda knew she'd get some teasing for playing it a bit too on the nose but at least she was in a costume, unlike someone she could name.

She scanned the crowd for familiar faces and quickly found a group in the back - mostly by the witch's hat. It wasn't exactly uncommon in the sea of costumes but this one was attached to a Topaz.

Wanda pushed her way through to the table and removed her hat. "Ladies," she said, claiming a seat. "If you are requiring refreshment, Kevin is, and I quote, getting all of the drinks from the bar."

The Topaz in question made a show of tipping her witch's hat in Wanda's direction. From the looks of the table, all the drinks had already been their first order. "Brilliant." She certainly sounded cheerier than usual. "Told the bartender to just serve up some favorites. Not sure what half of it is, but no disappointments so far." She pointed to one that had been quarantined in a corner. "Pretty sure that one has pumpkin spice in it, though."

"I smelled it, that was enough for me," Felicia agreed, her grin accenting her smudged red lipstick. The ladies had gone for obvious cliches as their theme and Kevin had apparently missed, or more likely ignored, the memo, so of course she'd chosen Pheiffer's Catwoman, though apparently nearer to the end of the film, once her latex suit had started to lose some stitches, as well as the mask itself.

Two waitstaff appeared with trays full of drinks. Kevin followed as they placed them on the table in front of the ladies.

"The bar has some kind of spooky themed cocktails. I didn't know what you're drinking, so I got one of each." He took a sip of his vodka rocks with a twist. "It's spooky vodka. You know... a wayward spirit."

Wanda groaned even as she reached for one. Bad puns or not, she wasn't going to pass them up. She took a cautious sip and then glanced at the large board marked with the names of the themed cocktails. "Well, at least this is a classic - decent corpse reviver to start off the evening." She cheered Topaz and Felicia. "Or join in, at least."

Topaz toasted Wanda, taking a long sip of whatever she'd taken. "Cheers. Don't recommend this one." She compared the drink to the board. "Jason takes Manhattan. Clever."

"I swear Halloween has to rival St.Pats for most insufferable night at the bar for patrons and staff alike." Kevin settled back, sipping from his drink. "Don't get me wrong. The fact that the 'slutty insert any job or item here' costume idea took off is a boon for me, but it's now a week long run up to the event."

"Sydney," Felicia said, tone low as she picked up something red and smoking that smelled of cranberries and rosemary. "I know we're friends or something and this is how we show affection but if the only person not in costume could not insult me to my face on the holy day of my people, it would be recommended."

The noise Wanda made was most certainly not a snort laugh. Not at all. Clearing her throat, she took another sip of her drink. "Veseli praznitsi!" she said in Bulgarian, wishing her friend a happy holiday with a laugh.

"Aur yah ek achchha ho sakata hai!" Topaz added with a noise that was definitely a laugh. She checked her hat to make sure it was still on her head before taking another sip.

"Santé," Felicia replied, casually adjusting Topaz's hat that she'd bumped while checking on it with one hand, lingering a touch in her hair, and raising her glass with the other. "Now you, make it dirty you know you want to."

"My former father in law used to consider this one the height of wit." Kevin held up his glass. "To the kisses we’ve snatched, and vice versa."

Topaz rolled her eyes, maybe leaning into Felicia's touch the tiniest bit as she took another sip. "It's definitely something."

"Unique as always, my friend," Wanda said, leaning on the table and letting the stress she always wore on her shoulders ease just slightly. Her guard was never down but she was letting herself forget everything she had to do at least for a few hours.

"Can definitely drink to that," Felicia said, taking a long mouthful and setting her glass on the table. "Now, important question. How many more rounds before I can convince one or all of you to dance with me?"

"Depends. If it's a nice fox-trot or rumba, right now. If you want modern dancing, I'll leave it for the ladies." Kevin leaned back and waved at the server. "Can I get another vodka with a- sorry, Spooky Halloween vodka with a twist?"

"I have absolutely no place on a dance floor," Topaz added. "But you're welcome to test how many drinks it takes to make me consider it."

Wanda tossed back the rest of her drink and added the empty glass to the growing stack. "Sounds like you just volunteered to go order more drinks then," she teased Topaz as she held out her hand to Felicia. "I, for one, am dancing with our favorite cat burglar."

"See." Kevin said to Topaz as he collected his new drink. "If you don't dance, you get stuck at the table with the creepy old man."

"If you ever saw me dance, you'd understand why that's still better and safer for everyone involved."

"Nah, Catnip has survival skills, but also a low immunity to kitten eyes for my request of vodka shots? So maybe some survival skills?" Felicia half asked, half grinned, as she was led onto the dance floor by Wanda onto the dance floor, her palm warm in her hand. She yelled over the crowd, pointing at Kevin, "Don't think I'm not getting a fox-trot when I come back, old man!"

"Topaz, let me give you a bit of advice." Kevin said, waving them off to the dance floor. "If you're going to date women, learn to dance. Because if I've learned one thing about them in all my years... most women want to dance." He made a motion to the bartender, who was now bypassing the servers in order to serve this gold mine of a table, taking in the silent circular pointing gesture that was the universal sign for shots.

"Huh?" Topaz blinked a few times, lowering her glass. "Who's dating women?"

Kevin gave her an even glance before returning to her drink. "Just a word to the wise. Might be useful one day." It wasn't his job to make the young woman uncomfortable. Actually, it was, but that was in a professional capacity, and not in casual drinks on her off hours. "Oh good, the shots are called Dracula's Kiss. That sounds... healthy." He read from the event drinks card.

Topaz gave him another confused look before finishing her drink. "Better than going for the obvious Bloody Mar - wait." She put her glass down with a decisive clink. "Do you think I'm dating women?" It wasn't offended so much as completely bewildered.

Kevin tried not to roll his eyes. She was young and didn't need him to call her out. "Like I said, might be useful one day. Or not. What do I know? Other than I think Felicia might have gotten Wanda's bra off while dancing." He pointed.

It wasn’t for a lack of trying and honestly it would have worked except that Wanda kept giggling hysterically into Felicia’s neck as they made their way back to the table.

"But babe, I got us a hotel! I'll get it then for sure and you can wear my letterman jacket!” Felicia cackled, giving Wanda’s ass a playful squeeze as they approached the table, immediately taking a shot. "Kev? Rumba? I think Catnip needs at least another before I can convince her dancing is a good idea."

"You get your rumba, but leave them alone. They are already too oversaturated." Kevin said, standing up and taking her hand. "You ladies get a cab while I twirl her around the dance floor."

Felicia rolled her eyes looking over to the group as she was led away, vinyl hips already squeaking as they swayed, trying to find the waltz beat. "Take chances! Make mistakes! Get messy! But also don't let a dude decide when you are or are not done, do what you feel my loves, no pressure-!"

A tray of shots was delivered to the table; Topaz looked at it for a minute, then shrugged, grabbed one, and threw it back. "No need to let these go to waste before we leave."

“S advice.” Grabbing one, Wanda clinked glasses over the table with Topaz before tossing it back. She picked out another one as she pulled out her phone to hail the cab. “Well, sage advice until I wake up tomorrow, but c’est la vie, darling.”
