Felicia and Alani go out for drinks, talk fashion, and end the night with a little unorthodox sharing of information.
The bar was a bit classier than Alani would have gone to on her own, but she'd been wanting to check it out for a while. And what better opportunity than meeting with the fashionable and fabulous Felica Hardy? It also made it easier for her to take a step back from her academic life and remember she was a person. Resting her chin on her hand, she flashed a toothy grin to the blonde. "Thank you so much for doing this with me. I have been dying to catch up with you. And, well, ask you some things for curiosity's sake."
“Oh noooo I have to drink and talk to hot people. While drinking,” Felicia replied, wrapping the lemon rind garnish idly around her nail before flicking it into her drink. She smirked, red rips pulled lopsided, as her ankle swung idly, brushing up against hers. "My life is so hard. Feel free to make it difficult whenever you'd like, sweetheart."
"I know, you are truly braver than any US Marine and deserve a 20 to 50% pay raise, at least." Alani was far too pleased with herself, grinning and totally not blushing like the ‘senpai noticed me’ trope. Okay, mentally the cherry blossoms were in the breeze but that was neither here nor there. “You say that, but the night is young and this cute little drink has a cherry at the bottom, so you know it’s dangerous.”
Felicia laughed, low, as her foot swung up to rest against Alani's thigh, shoe toe balanced precariously on the edge of her chair. "But they removed the stem. It's a pity, I've never... hands on taught someone to tie that knot," she said, taking a punctuary sip of her own drink, a soft long pause that didn't invite interruption. "You should really ask me your questions now, I only get worse from here."
"A lady of many talents, I could learn so much from you." Okay, that made Alani's face heat up far more than was ready to admit, and her brain turned to a dial tone. Taking a small sip of the cocktail, she grinned toothily. "I, right, yes. So, I actually have more than one question, I know, I'm very sneaky like that, so do you want nosy bitch Alani or selfish Alani questions? You'll get both before the night is over, but I leave the start up to you."
"Well, lucky for you I fucking love talking about myself so both of them sound equally good, but how about we start with selfish?" Felicia returned, turning her grin lopsided over her bit lip. "Always a good place to start."
Alani laughed, holding her drink away so she didn't sputter into it or inhale anything. "And I love that for you," she admitted, grinning back before she fully set the glass down. "Okay, so, I wanna steal a look from the Nanny. If you haven't seen it," she paused to scroll through the pictures on her phone before setting it down for Fi to catch a look at the image. "This little black dress, I want it. And I'd pay for it. I'm just not much for fashion, so... I don't really know where to look or how to go about finding one."
"Ohhh..." Felicia hummed, opening up the image with a zoom, and smiled. "Oh I know this, I follow the Insta account. It's a Herve Ledger if I remember, no one has been able to find the exact dress, but I'd like to put it out there I don't think it's velvet, I think it's a rayon forward ponté maybe a bengaline," she continued, pupils wide to match her red grin. "Do you want the matching Moschino purse too?"
"Oh?" And when Alani cocked her head, her grin was much more relaxed, amused but very invested as she listened to Fi explain the history of the dress. Taking a careful sip of her aviation, she finally got her brain to work and make words that made sense. "Oh wow. I mean, er, I don't know if I could pull off a full Fran Fine look, especially because I'm not even much of a purse person who's lacking in the chest department, but... well, what do you think? Do I need a cute purse to go with a cute black dress?"
Flicking her gaze up Felicia stilled, expression turning into something entirely more dangerous before she laughed. "Definitely. Heart purses are on trend again this spring," she said, briefly looking away to swirl her drink. "Tell you what. You can borrow my Chanel, so long as I get photos of your debut in the whole fit."
And she sputtered this time, face flushing a tad redder at the words as she did her best to regain her composure. "That you think I'm trendy, Fi, could fill an entire diary of lil' Alani's life." Alani's laugh was lighter, as she did her best not to actually preen. But an observant eye would easily be able to tell her pleasure as she sipped her drink again. "I don't know where I'd wear anything as nice as that dress and your Chanel, but you would be the first person to see the debut, assuming you're not already there looking like your fabulous self. I mean, you in that dress? I'd sell my soul to see."
"Adding flattery to the list? Should I be worried that you've figured out all my vices so quickly?" Felicia asked, pausing to lean forward, elbow placed on the table and chin resting in hand, in such a way that suggested she wasn't quite done speaking. "Don't sell yourself short, beautiful. You are stunning, and I'm more than happy to assist you in showing that off. The stretching of my vast and very impressive knowledge is a fun bonus, though."
"Oh, no," Alani drew out the word, lips tugging up into a tooth flashing grin. "I would never purposely lavish you with praise for my own benefit. I'll have you know that I also do it just to praise you. I'm an amazing hype person and love getting to catch a gleam of your knowledge, fashion or otherwise." Her fingers slid along the stem of her glass as she watched Fi, wide eyes not breaking contact, though her smile never left. "I would also gladly help you look for whatever you wanted. Which," she paused purposefully then, "brings me to my other point. If you're ready to move on to that?"
"Acceptable. We can, how do they say, circle back when I want to further discuss you in a pretty dress," Felicia replied, barely hiding her grin with her glass as she took another sip of her drink, gesturing out for her to continue.
"You're too much, Fi - that's not true, never change." The amendment was accompanied by a shaking of her head as Alani sat up a little straighter, as if to show that these were very serious matters. "So, the people new to the mansion. I think I've met all three of them, and being the nosy person I am, I was wondering if you'd also met them, and if so you had opinions or points you wanted to share." She paused for a moment as she took another sip. "Aside from wanting to climb the Russian like a tree, I'll admit they all intrigue me, though I do try and not pry into other people's business when it doesn't involve me. Ya know, stuff like if they're okay or might need anything, or, just, your thoughts in general."
Felicia blinked, put on the spot. "I. Uh. Not to Mariah this but I don't know them? Are there three now? Who are the three? There's the silver carb pusher, spider goo girl..." she said, concentrating. "Oh! Princess! Yeah. I have no idea about any of them. Other than the mob princess probably hates me but, eh."
"Three, just as you said." Alani confirmed after she gathered herself back up from the small giggle fit that had overcome her at the nicknames. Sure, she would never repeat them but the delivery had been beautiful. Of course, she perked up at the new information Felicia had presented. "Oooh, well, I guess that would make anyone join our merry little band. Hope everything's okay, though." She tapped her fingertips on the table for a moment before- "Would you like me to tell you what I've found out about each of them."
"Oh sweetheart," Felicia said slowly, lowering her chin into her bridged fingers. "Always."
