Shatterstar checks up on Miss Abbott after her experience with rescuing the mutants of Haven
Shatterstar had the checkers board under his arm when he came down to the medbay to check on Miss Abbott. They had started playing chess in their weekly games, but checkers were more portable.
"I am glad you are awake," he told her stiffly and bowed his head. "I heard you were a ghost for a bit."
"Not quite the way I would put it, but there was some astral work involved, yes." Hope simply replied as she raised the bed and pulled her dressing gown a little more closely around her. "Thank you for coming to check upon me."
Shatterstar held up the box of checkers for her inspection. "I brought this so we can have our regular game, if you feel up to it." He was always careful to practice manners with Miss Abbott and never make demands.
It took her moment to take stock of herself. She had just taken her painkillers, so the throbbing her head was bearable and some distraction might not be a bad idea. "A short one perhaps, as long as my head cooperates. Though I do have to warn you if Sue finds us here, bent over the checkers board."
"I am sure she will understand you need something to do," He smiled slightly and went to find a table to set the board up on. He was glad to see she was feeling up to a game, having been unsure if she would be corporeal when he came to visit.
