They collect Jenn but discover they aren't the only ones looking for her.
Jennifer Dunn was used to the double-edged sword of being immediately noticeable. When her mutant powers had first activated, her skin had taken on the pinkish, almost plastic sheen along with her ability to need neither food or water to sustain herself. She'd spent years hiding it, first at home and then after her mother's death in the small trailer she'd bought. But even as it made her mutation obvious, it had also made her unique. Her looks had brought her to the attention of the X-Ranch, and suddenly the mutation that made Jennifer Dunn take a low profile had made her cam persona 'Barbie Girl' very popular. A collection of blonde wigs and pink outfits had made her a well paid draw on the platform. Now, it was the opposite, hiding from the sinister looking forms in heavy protective outfits in a dank concrete loading area that once sent steel forms out the doors.
Darcy whistled the first line of the "Scooby Doo" theme as they entered the abandoned building, letting it echo off the walls as they moved. "Barb? Pesky kids here to pick up their missing Fred." It wasn't the best code, but it was something she and Stacy had come up with quickly. Hopefully the other woman had been able to relay before the phone service out here had gone to shit.
"Oh fuck! Fuck!" Jenn pulled aside the broken down and stained cardboard box she had been using to conceal herself in the corner. "You're here from Stacy right? To get me out? You're going to get me out, right?"
"That's the plan." Sooraya smiled reassuringly. "But before we go, are you hurt in any way? We'll have to go on foot for quite a bit before we can leave completely." She added, looking over the woman as she did so.
"I'm- fuck, I'm fine. Just get me out of here." Dunn was barely holding it together. "There's soldiers and those guys listening to that purple bitch almost on top of us."
"That's the plan, babe." Darcy's voice was crisp as she stared at the small group assembled in front of her. She pulled her beanie off, then extracted a scrunchie from a pocket. "Bruiser, take Jenn's hat. You're gonna play decoy with Dominion. Blink, Dust, your priority is to get Jenn and yourselves to a safe evac point." Her own hat got slipped over Jenn's head, and the braid that dropped down Darcy's back got bundled up with the scrunchie. "Spectrum, you and I are going to go left and deal with whatever we find, assuming they haven't used their brains and bugged out already."
"Love the hat!" Molly said, putting Jennifer's hat on her head before cracking her knuckles. "I'll try not to get bullet holes in it."
"Smart." Kane muttered, looking around. "I think Molly and I break right. Make a bit of noise. I'm tempting to Laurie after all." Not mentioning that a fully powered Laurie would easily kill him. Maybe this chaos aura would save him again. Sooraya, you get people out."
"Gotcha." Sooraya nodded before glancing over at Clarice. "Blink, I'll take point, if you watch our backs? Jenn, make sure to stick close to us, okay? We'll stick to the maintenance tunnels as much as possible first." Less human remains to scare Jen there hopefully, but she didn't say that out loud.
"Different purple bitch," Clarice added, smiling reassuringly. No teleporting meant any combat was close quarters, which was not at all preferred. But they had a job to do and she would do it. "Let's move out, stay quiet and move swiftly. We want as much distance as we can get," then they could teleport.
Darcy looked at each of them seriously. "Regroup at our original drop once you've dealt with any tails. Be safe. Getting out is our priority here, so don't worry about trussing them up for the suits to round up. Knock 'em out, leave them to their fate."
