(Backdated) Alani, Clint, and Namor find a chance to enjoy paradise in-between Atlantis-driven research on starcharts and wayfaring when in Hawaii.

Alani was enjoying her Cinnamon Toast Crunch, having rolled out of bed at a luxurious ten in the morning, and no she wasn’t going to acknowledge that the time difference between Hawai’i and New York meant it was the same time she woke up on the mainland. Her parents had already left for the morning, citing research and reminding her to keep the house clean with a wave.

A feeling of eyes on her drew her attention slowly, and she looked around sleepily. Grey-blue eyes were staring at her in a way that reminded her of a cat trying to psychically feed them. "Yah?" She asked around her cereal. "Wai- where's Clint?"

The Atlantean man across the table studied her. "Tell us," he questioned, "do you always sleep so late when traveling? It is not seemly for a king to arise before his aides. Or is this an island tradition."

"Tradition," Alani agreed, standing with her breakfast to check the kitchen. "You wanna bowl? Wait, what time is it? And where is Clint?"

"Clint's on the roof," the man himself called down through the skylight closest to him. "Baking. And it's fantastic."

Namor raised a single eyebrow, "It is 15:00 hours."

"Have fun babe!" She called up to her boss, before looking back to Namor. "It's 10 o'clock in the morning, Namor, am I still time messed up? Did you eat? Uh, did you want a drink? It's not like you're driving anywhere." And not like she would give him a car to drive.

"That is our normal time," he explained very slowly, "Although I personally appreciate your commitment to following more sensibile methods of time telling. A wise choice."

His eyes went to the window, taking in the island vista outside. "We spent the morning balancing with the sea. It has been too long since I visited the Te Moana Nui a Kiwa."

"No use thinking on mainland time when we're not there," Alani yawned before flashing a smile. "Oh that sounds lovely, you just like checking it out or were you boys off to check out the ocean today?"

"Clint, you got plans?"

"Aside from soaking up some much needed sun, I got nothin'," Clint replied. "I'm down for whatever you two wanna do."

"We have been considering light diversions. This island nation is fairly isolated, and I believe we could help liberate its people and reinstate their queen in thanks for their hospitality. It might take the afternoon." This was delivered like Namor was planning a tourist itinerary.

Rolling over so he could peer down at his friends through the skylight, Clint said, "Oh sure. A little light revolution, maybe a coup -- do we know who the actual queen would be? Alani, what do you think?"

Alani had been staring into the contents of the fridge unblinking, before she slowly shook her head and pulled out the orange juice. She raised an eyebrow and took a sip of the jug while making direct eye contact with Namor. "Handful of potential heirs. I like living here and already got my parents sent a bomb once, so please do not throw a coup, because I don't see that ending well for anyone. If you want we could, uhhhhhh, hike? Lotta hiking we could do, or botanical gardens? Do other people like botanical gardens? No spirit in this aquarium for you to work your magic on, sorry, Your Highness."

"We could seduce the volcano. Might be an appropriate challenge." It was a joke. Maybe.

Snorting a laugh, Clint eeled his way back into the house, then reached up and closed it. Shirtless and smelling of sunscreen, his cheeks were rosy as he said, "Wait, which volcano? Pele? Or one that didn't feature in a very popular Disney movie recently-ish? Cause if you're seducing a volcano, I'ma hang out with Alani and hike. And maybe swim. Also, I like botanical gardens in general, but sorta the way I like any gardens. They're nice to look at, but I've been told I can't really appreciate them since I can't see them in all their multi-colored glory."

There was confusion written all over Alani's face before she shook her head firmly. "I just said I like living here and don't want to be banned, if Namor sleeps with a volcano there's no way I get to visit ever again. Which is very rude," she stressed the words to the royal. "Pick another pastime, just this once, for my ability to one day come back home."

His Royal Highness sighed imperially, which meant it lasted longer than entirely needed. "Kings do not compromise. If liberation and fliration are out, however, I suppose that the botanical gardens will have to do. These are the islands with the dinosaurs, correct? That may add some color for the archer."

Apparently someone had shown Namor Jurassic Park.

Clint rolled his eyes a little, having been the person to sit through Jurassic Park with Namor and a few others in the common area. "And here I thought you'd've gone for soaring over the forests while we hiked below," he nudged the Atlantean's arm. "Either way, I'm assuming I should at least start out in a shirt. Maybe."

“Tank tops are shirts,” Alani smiled though she also dramatically rolled her eyes. "I think I have two in my bag, so we can hit the road... Neither of you are driving my parents' car, so I am driving, and wow, this is my life now, huh? Let's go look at some plants or some dinosaurs, hell, maybe we can see both."
