Jay gets a pride flag from the shop of Jessie.
Jay knocked on the flag covered door and felt a little bashful when the girl with rainbow hair answered the door. His question was probably a little obvious. "Are you the gal handing out all the flags an' that?"
"All the ones I got," Jessie said with a flourish at the door. "If you're in the market for generic rainbow, lesbian, ace, aro, or trans, I got you covered."
"Ya got a small one of them transgender ones?" Jay asked, wondering for a moment if he was overstepping.
"How small are you thinking? The ones on the door here are eight by eleven, if I remember correctly. Printer paper size. But I've got smaller ones too."
"Big enough to be noticed, but small enough to be unobtrusive, how about?" Jay asked, feeling a little less awkward.
Jessie nodded along, thinking. "Give me one second." And she disappeared back into the suite, leaving the door open for Jay to see the absolute rainbow disaster it had become. Different articles of pride clothing were thrown all over the place, there was nail polish and chalk, and so. Many. Flags. Jessie returned a moment later with an old backpack and sat on the floor, crossing her legs under herself with her bag in her lap as she rifled through it. "Okay, let's see, I've got a couple different smaller flag sizes," one by one the small flags on sticks came out, ranging from the size of an index card to a cheez-it, "this one is technically a yard flag but I've never had a yard, bless Auntie Tina, she did her best, oh, these little triangle shaped ones," which were also on sticks, "a couple of extra patches which are great for jackets, this - wait, that's a wall one, it's entirely obtrusive - oh hey, I've been wondering where this shirt ended up! What's it for, anyway? Like if you want one for your desk or something, I definitely recommend this one," the index card sized one, "I might have a holder for it, if you want it for your car I've got a couple decals..."
Jay peeked his head into the explosion of color, shifting his feathers slightly at the urge to make himself at home among it. "I'm jes' lookin' for something to have on my desk," Jay confirmed. "That size looks good, and I can put it in with my pens and suchlike. Thank you."
"Of course." Jessie gave him a grin. "Always happy to help spread a little Pride."
Jay folded the little flag and tucked it into his shirt pocket. "It'll be good to have this," he said, sadness creeping into his voice but he tried not to let it show. "Y'all have a good Pride."
