Sarah cursed as she looked down at the rough map of the facility they had handed her before she entered. Was that block supposed to be a door or a stairwell? She followed the corner to a hallway on her left, and froze. There was someone at the end of the hall who looked suspiciously like the photo in her briefing. Liam Nelson. Feline mutation. Do not stab if you can help it -- Sarah we're not kidding.. Fine. She cleared her throat. "You tired of mad scientist sleepaway camp yet?"
Hissing, Liam crouched, then ran towards her, claws already extended and ready to fight. He might not feel great or be happy about things, but he had to defend his pack and everything else.
Kurt had teleported in just around the corner, and was now using his shadows to creep steadily closer. Poised to intervene when the moment seemed right.
Sarah drew her arms into herself in a defensive posture. Her jacket would get shredded, but the bone on her arms would take most of the damage. "I'm not here to hurt you, Liam."
That was what they all said. And they were all liars. Only pack mattered. And they weren't pack. Launching himself at her, he grabbed her arms, flipping her over with him, tail helping him keep balance.
"Shit!" Sarah tumbled backwards, and kicked hard with the sole of a thick boot to give herself some space. They said she couldn't stab him, but nobody said anything about a fractured rib. She pulled the rest of her jacket off, giving herself better access to the bone in her shoulder. She gripped it and pulled, and it came loose covered in blood. "How about we try this again? I am not here to hurt you, but I will if I have to."
"Not if I hurt you first," he finally growled, though could he hurt someone pulling bones out of themselves? Only one way to find out. He jumped her, tail wrapped around her throat as his claws bit into her sides, snagging on bone growths.
Sarah yelped hoarsely in surprise-- they hadn't mentioned he could use his tail, or if they had she had zoned out. She felt him struggle against the bone he was caught on, and had a grim sense of satisfaction that it was just as annoying for him as it was for her. Steeling herself against what would likely be an unpleasant yank against the bone, she aimed a bone covered elbow at his face.
His tail wasn't strong enough to actually choke her out, but it still provided distraction and it was very fluffy so there was plenty of hair in her everything to trip her up. Yowling as her movement wrenched his claw free his finger throbbed, the nail broken. Damn it! Not that that was a big concern as his head went backwards, blood splattering. He kicked blindly, twisting to force her arm back behind her.
