Paige and Sam! (Gee and Sammy)
Jul. 20th, 2003 09:49 pmYesterday! Whee!
Whistling cheerfully to herself, Paige made her way down the hall towards her brother’s dorm. She carried a parcel with her, wrapped in bright paper and tied with one of her satin hair ribbons, and had a bounce to her step. Pausing in front of the door marked 210 she rapped sharply with her free hand and waited.
Sam was standing at his desk, right near the door, gazing reverently at the guitar Alison had given him for his birthday when he heard the knock. He looked up, startled, and grinned as he opened the door. "Gee! I wondered if you'd forgotten me…”
Thrusting the present forward she returns the grin. “Such little confidence you have in me, Sammy. Happy birthday! Er… belated birthday.”
Snickering at his little sister, Sam had an idea that he knew exactly why she hadn't stopped by earlier, and he took the present with one hand, ruffling her hair with the other. "Thanks. Come on in!" He shook the box, listening intently. "Hm..."
Paige tossed her hair back into place, mock glaring fiercely. She entered his room like she owned the place, hopping up onto his desk and crossing her legs. “Watch it, it might be breakable.”
Pretty much disregarding Paige's warning, Sam ripped into the paper with a vengeance, excited as ever by the prospect of presents. Opening the box, he took out a brand new pair of aviator goggles, beaming at Paige. "GEE! They're perfect!" He put them on right away, jumping over furniture to get to the mirror.
She couldn’t help but giggle at his boyish antics. “Even though I am your sister, I do occasionally listen to your whining. Ebay.com is the greatest; I was just grateful that you didn’t notice this huge package for me in the mail from some stranger.” Tilting her head, she nodded contently. “They look good. What do you think?”
"They're amazing! And they make me look very macho and cool. And!" He slid them down over his eyes from where they rested on his forehead, pulling at the strap that adjusted them. "They fit real good too, huh?"
“Yeah, I made sure they would fit well. They should last quite a while- unless you decide to throw them off a plane and jump on them or something.” Slipping off the desk she opened her arms. “Don’t I even get a thank you hug?”
"O' course you do!" Sam jumped back over the furniture and wrapped Paige in his arms, giving her a big bear hug and twirling her around. "Love you, Gee. Thankyouthankyouthankyou!"
Making squished, coughing noises for a moment, Paige finally gave in, laughing with pure glee. “Then let me breathe!” Her toes brushed the carpeting and she grasped onto Sam’s shoulders for support, a grin lighting up her face. “You’re welcome Sammy. I love you too.”
Letting her go abruptly, he spun on his heel for another look in the mirror. "I'm gonna wear these with my uniform...they'll be just great. Did I tell you I wanted goggles? How did you know? Gee...you're the best." He laughed what may even have been construed as a giggle by unknowing passersby.
With a smug expression, Paige crossed her arms, watching her “older” brother, amused. “I’m just a genius, that’s all.” Her act fell when she grinned suddenly, eyes sparkling. “So… do you have time for a demonstration?”
"I always have time for flying with you." He kissed the top of her head affectionately and opened the window. "Wanna go out the fast way?"
“Do I!” She grinned, throwing his arms around him. “That means yes by the way.”
Laughing, Sam nodded. "Gotcha!" He gathered her up in his arms after securing the new goggles, pushing off the window ledge. He fell for about 6 feet before blasting off, a shout of "Yeeeehaa!" audible for, most likely, miles around.
