Characters involved: Amanda Sefton, Jubilation Lee

What Happens: Amanda while heading toward the kitchen in search of food, runs into Jubilee. A brief discussion is held, name calling is exchanged and then all hell breaks lose when the girls decide the best way to solve things is a huge, screaming fight.

Jubilee was whistling softly to herself as she made her way down the main entrance stairs. She wanted to spend some time outside, maybe practice with her powers in the open a bit more. She'd been in an inexplicably good mood all morning, although possibly not so inexplicable, considering what happened last night. She hadn't seen Manny since very early that morning but she'd have to talk to him later some time.

What had happened hadn't been something she'd planned on, and while it had been good, better then good really, she wasn't sure how it was going to affect their friendship and she needed to talk to him about it, sort things out. Time for all that later, right now she needed to get outside and do something physical, take her mind off everything. For her part, Amanda was neither whistling nor in a good mood. The fallout from the binding spell she'd had to put on Manuel in Asgard had been bad. So had Mistra, and everything that had happened with Nate.

The scene with Angelo and Manuel on the back porch had been worse. The email she'd gotten in her inbox from Angelo saying he wasn't going to be her friend any more for her own safety was downright horrible. It had been all she could do to not hitch a ride into town and find the first bar that would accept her fake ID, when she'd felt... that down the link with Manuel, the link he'd been blocking all week. He wouldn't touch her, but he certainly had no problems touching someone else, and letting her know all about it. And she was pretty damn sure who that someone else was... Finishing her cigarette, she flicked the butt into the sand bucket provided and headed back inside, thoughts of the kitchen and food on her mind. To take a lesson from Jake, food made everything better.

But no sooner had she opened the front door than she deeply regretted the action. Because here was Lee herself, radiating good cheer and a certain air of being pleased with herself. Amanda didn't need to check out the other girl's aura to know exactly why that was - one look at her face told her she'd gotten laid recently, and very well. Suspicions hardened into convictions. "Have a good time last night with me boyfriend, Tinkerbell?" she asked, closing the door behind her and leaning back against it, her arms crossed over her chest.

Jubilee quickly calculated what would happen if she simply tried to shove past Amanda and abandoned the idea after getting a look at the other girl's expression. 'Great, the one person I really, really didn't want to see right now. Damn karma.' she thought. She decided to tough it out, act cool about it and maybe Amanda would simply walk away. "Don't see as how that's any of your business, Mandy. Unless o'course Manny chooses ta tell ya but I certainly ain't gonna kiss and tell." Jubilee shifted the bag she had over her shoulder to a more comfortable position and raised an eyebrow. "How bout you get outta my way, huh?"

"Are you stupid as well as annoyin'? He doesn't have t' tell me anythin', we're fuckin' well linked, remember? What I feel, he feels, an' what he feels _I_ feel. An' I got a right brainful of what he was feelin' last night." Amanda narrowed her eyes at the other girl. "An' I have t' tell you, Lee, yer've got a lot t' learn if you want t' keep him. Did you really think he enjoyed the whole clumsy virgin thing?"

Jubilee would admit later, if only to herself that the next moment was probably the worst possible thing she could have done. However, what Amanda said hit her in a spot that hit any number of very nasty buttons. She'd been worried about how she did, about whether she'd been any good at all. Manny had seemed happy but she didn't know enough to really tell, and she had been clumsy at first, inexperienced. The hurt Amanda's words caused her to say the most childish, hurtful thing she could think of back.

"Funny that, cause I could have sworn he said I was much better then anyone else he'd been sleepin' with lately. Gee, I guess that woulda been you, wouldn't it? It's not your fault, Mandy. Guess I'm just more his type." Jubilee knew she wasn't telling the truth, that Manny hadn't said anything of the sort, but it was the only thing she could think of that might get Amanda to go away, even if she had to deal with her later when she found out that he hadn't.

"You don't have any fuckin' idea what yer talkin' 'bout, Lee," Amanda retorted, but her voice shook. Jubilee's shot had been way too close to home - she'd vocalised exactly Amanda's fears about the other girl's friendship with Manuel. "You think just 'cause you dress up like some little doll for him he's gunna love you?"

Jubilee scowled, more angry then she could ever remember being. Amanda's words hurt, slicing her in places she hadn't even known would hurt. Giving up on being civil, now not caring how much she hurt the other girl, she went for the throat. "Poor little Mandy. Just don't fit, do ya? Scared that he might like me more cause I can at least pass in his world? God, you're pathetic. Got some advice for ya, you wanna fit into his world, better start lookin' like less of a two cent hooker."

There was no response to that. Or at least not anything verbal. Amanda had already advanced on Jubilee from her position against the door - now she stepped forward, bunched her fist, and slugged Jubilee right in the face. "I've been wantin' t' do that for a fuckin' long time, Lee," she said with no small amount of satisfaction, fury rising hot and strong within her. Everything that had happened in the last month, all the stress and frustrations and petty annoyances, all were centred behind that punch, and it gave her an unholy sort of joy to see the smirk wiped off that pretty face.

She hadn't seen the punch coming, not really thinking Amanda would do it. Of course, later she'd look back and curse at herself for being such an idiot when she should have known and been able to block it. Instead, it hit her right on the nose, the crunching sound turning Jubilee's stomach briefly as she rocked back with the hit. Blinking at Amanda in stunned surprise, she reached her hand upwards, only to bring it away stained with bright red drops of her own blood. "Ew brook mu noosh, u bish." A wave of red hatred and anger swamped her, she let it take her, reaching upwards with red stained hands, her thumbs going directly for Amanda's eyes.

"Believe me, it's an improvement, slag," Amanda grunted, jerking her head back and grabbing at Jubilee's wrists. She managed to avoid getting her eyes poked out, but one of Jubilee's thumbnails raked across her cheek, opening a bloody gash. In return, she brought her knee up, meaning to connect with Jubilee's stomach and knock the wind out of her. Jubilee twisted her wrists out of Amanda's hands.

Stepping back just in time to avoid the knee, Jubilee dropped into a crouch, going for a sweeping kick in the hopes of knocking her down. Unfortunately for Jubilee, Amanda had been getting extra training with Nate, and he was fond of leg sweeps. Dodging aside, she grabbed a handful of Jubilee's absurdly-long hair and yanked her to her feet. "Thing 'bout all the fancy stuff," she said, pulling Jubilee's head back and ignoring the other girl's nails as she instinctively clawed at the hand holding her hair. "Is it ain't worth shite if you can't fight for real." She pushed Jubilee away from her, releasing her hair as she did. "C'mon on then, Tinkerbell. Show me of these shit-hot martial arts moves of yers. I've been busting t' wipe the floor with yer skinny arse since I first saw you."

Looking up at Amanda through strands of hair that now hung down around her face, Jubilee growled. "I'll show ya fightin', ya scarred up hag." Having said that, she jumped, twisting around as she brought her leg up in a kick that would hit Amanda in the upper shoulder and hopefully knock her off balance if it hit.

"Oh, for fuck's sake..." Amanda saw the kick coming a mile off - roundhouse kicks were practically impossible not to telegraph if you didn't add something as a distraction, and she'd known Lee would go for something showy. She braced against the kick and simultaneously blocked, preferring to let it contact than let Lee have another shot if she'd merely dodged. It hurt, but she could live with that. The punch that Jubilee did follow up with hurt a lot more since she hadn't expected it - the girl was fast - connecting solidly with her jaw. Another took her just under the ribs, and she lashed out blindly with her fists, half-punching, half-pushing Jubilee away.

"Didn't see that one, didya, bitch?" Jubilee crowed, sidestepping Amanda's punch and coming in, intending to put her in a lock and finish this. And perhaps laugh while she struggled. She managed to grab Amanda's forearms, but instead of pulling away like Jubilee had been expecting, the Brit twisted her body around, snaking her leg around Jubilee's and effectively tripping her onto her back. Because of the grip Jubilee had on her wrists, Amanda followed, landing heavily on the firecracker, the air whooshing out of her with an audible woof-ing sound.

On your back was not a good position in a fight and a twist of real fear uncoiled in Jubilee's belly. Forgetting all about fancy moves, she darted forward, biting savagely into the side of Amanda's left hand. With a yelp, Amanda wrenched her right arm out of Jubilee's grip and punched her in the face, once, twice... On the third Jubilee's teeth let go their grip. Blood ran from the bite, and Amanda, now straddling Jubilee with her knees either side of the other girl's hips, saw red. Something broke - her fragmentary self-control - and she grabbed a handful of thick hair either side of Jubilee's face and slammed the other girl's head into the floor, hard. Jubilee saw stars as her head slammed into the wooden floor, biting her tongue as her jaw slammed shut. She tasted blood, rage exploding like a starburst in her mind as she raised her hands up to grip Amanda's forearms, sending out a stream of sparks.

The sparks burned. Swearing in at least three languages, Amanda flung herself back, landing clumsily half on the floor and half on Jubilee's legs. Bright red welts, shaped like Jubilee's fingers, were already rising on her forearms. "You fuckin' psycho bitch!" Amanda exclaimed, unable to believe Jubilee had actually done it. She reacted out of pure rage and the Enchantress's teachings - stretching out her hand, she used her telekinetic spell to first lift, then slam Jubilee backwards into the wall.

Not expecting it, Jubilee hit the wall hard, knocking the breath out of her. She knew she'd have bruises on her back later but it didn't matter right now. She slid to the ground, her legs wobbly as she tried to drag in air. She needed to take the other girl down, and fast. Amanda's use of magic had just reminded Jubilee of something. Her power might be a match for Amanda's magic on an equal footing but Amanda could shield, an ability Jubilee didn't have. Letting streams of sparks form around her hands, she sent a wave of them directly at Amanda's legs: if Amanda was more interested in her legs then Jubilee, she might have a chance at getting away.

Magical multi-tasking. Fun. Amanda cast her shielding spell. The sparks skittered harmlessly across the glowing blue energy wall, and she returned in kind, casting a force bolt at Jubilee as she tried to make a break for it. The bolt hit the wall in front of her, smashing plaster and exposing the lathe beneath. "C'mon, Lee, where you slopin' off to? Yer the one who brought powers into this, you gunna cut an' run on me? Oh, wait, I forgot, that's how you do everythin', ain't it?" she taunted, not even thinking rationally now - all she wanted to do was finish this, show Jubilee who was boss for once and for all, and make sure she knew exactly what she'd done, what she'd interfered with. "Just like you, screw up, make a mess, an' then fuck off." She fired off another force bolt, not intending to hit her - plaster showered down on Jubilee as the energy hit the wall above her head.

That did it, that fucking did it. Jubilee didn't care about getting away now, didn't care about trying to end this without hurting Amanda. The bitch didn't deserve mercy, didn't deserve any kind of good feeling from her. Time to up this a notch, see how smug Amanda was when it got nasty. Reaching for more power, a glow of multicoloured energy started to form around Jubilee's hands as she aimed downwards, sending a wave of pyroplasmic energy at the floor, watching the wood buckle and churn as it exploded upwards, heading directly in a line away from Jubilee, towards Amanda's feet. Jubilee might not be able to affect Amanda directly with the shield up, but there were ways around that.

"Bloody fuckin' hell!" Amanda staggered back as a shower of wood splinters and dust flew up, bouncing off her shield but blinding her all the same. And the floor suddenly shifting under her feet didn't help. She managed to catch herself on one knee, and grabbed Jubilee telekinetically again - she didn't have the power for another force bolt - and sent her flying into the wall again. Jubilee was expecting it this time, and managed to brace herself for the impact, dropping to her feet like a cat, she threw all her concentration into getting her sparks to hit Amanda's shield in multiple places. She'd noticed the sweat starting to appear on the other girl's face, if she could somehow overload her, make her use up power then Jubilee might be able to end this now before it got any more out of hand. The fact that she was angry as hell may have had something to do with it also, the catharsis of just letting lose was somehow liberating after months of holding her temper.

The strain of maintaining a shielding spell at the same time as casting force bolts and using the TK spell was telling, even with the remnants of Asgard's power. Amanda could feel the dull throb of a headache beginning behind her eyes. She couldn't let that stop her - all this was Lee's fault, and she was tired of being the victim, always having other people imposing their wants on her. Time to show everyone she wasn't taking it any more. All her instincts, her training, were screaming at her to stop, that this wasn't how the magic was supposed to be used, but she ignored it, focusing instead on throwing a small ornamental table at Jubilee. Some stray fireworks made it though her failing shield, and she winced as they burned her shoulder.

Jubilee was so focussed on hammering Amanda's shield with multiple sparks that she didn't see the table until it was too late. It caught her on the shoulder and upper forearm and she heard a crunch as it connected. Blinding pain sparked across her mind, having never broken a bone before she wasn't ready for it and feeling the blackness behind her eyes, fear swirled upwards into a choking panic. Summoning everything she had inside her, she let it out, feeling the wave of raw energy spark from her hands and race outward in a large multicoloured ball.

Amanda saw the wave of fireworks descending on her at the same instant her shield broke completely, the now-familiar sensation of blood trickling from her nose signalling she'd hit her limits. Still, she tried, knowing there was nothing else to be done - she summoned up every last shred of power she had and pushed it back into her shield, only to have it fizzle and crackle ineffectually.

The fireball splintered against a new shield even as Amanda felt herself pulled suddenly out of the way. A similar shield with green lightning crawling over its surface went up around Jubilee, effectively pinning both girls in place. "Someone want to explain to me what in the hell is going on here? Have you both gone insane?" Lorna kept her voice low, barely a hiss over the crackling EM shields. She had sprinted from the kitchen, arriving in time to see Jubilee fling her giant fireball from her place in the remains of what used to be a priceless antique. She still had a butcher's knife clenched in one hand, her apron spotted liberally with blood. She wiped the blade on her apron, seemingly absently and fixed a cold look on Amanda, "You can go first."

"'S private," Amanda grated, shooting a venomous look at Jubilee but feeling cold and sick inside as she realised how close she'd come to doing some serious damage to Jubilee. If a broken nose and arm weren't 'serious' enough. "It might've gotten a bit out of hand," she admitted, feeling the sting from a number of small burns from Jubilee's fireworks over the throbbing of the more serious burns on her forearms and the pounding of her head.

"Blood, powers, property damage." The butcher's knife indicated each. "You try to kill each other and it's no longer private. So explanations, now." Lorna dropped the shields but held onto the fields in case she needed to put them back up. "Jubilation? Do you have anything to say for yourself? Notice the wording of that question. I want to know why you just tried to kill Amanda not what she did."

Jubilee reached up and wiped the blood from her face with the back of her hand, taking her time in answering. Her arm was throbbing and she was having a bit of trouble thinking over the pain signals. "Like, dude, I was so not tryin' ta kill her. She's like, with the shields and stuff and I was only tryin' to overload her so she'd God damn stop hurlin' shit at me."

Lorna folded her arms over her chest. "First of all, that was my shield you hit with -- and a damn good thing too or Amanda wouldn't be sitting there right now. Second, if you think I'm going to believe that you were simply minding your own business when Amanda showed up, shields and all and started throwing antiques then you clearly have another think coming." She gave the girls a hard look and shook her head, "Get up, both of you. We're going to march down to the medlab where I will inform the medical professionals that you are giving up your bodies to science and then I'm going to get the Professor and Pete." Her eyes narrowed, "I'll spare you from Cain for the time being."

Where's Logan when you need him, to get in trouble for sitting back and watching and making mental notes on what they need to work on?
