Backdated to last Monday evening.

Food beckoned. Clarice hadn't realized how little she had eaten in the past few days until she had shown up for dinner like she had promised Lorna. Now she was hungry again and her stomach was demanding something other than cookies and gatorade for a change. "Stupid healthy eating vegan cook saying cookies weren't a food group," she muttered to herself, trying to find something to snack on in the pantry.

Alex too was hungrey, not because he'd missed dinner or anything, just because he was a growing teenage boy. It was one of the first times he'd been out of the suite all day, having spent most of his time with either Shiro or Leyu, who practically lived there. He stoped in the doorway with a grin as he heard what Clarice had said. "Certainly the cook can't be all bad..."

"Wha?" she asked, finding some chips to munch on. She turned around, looking to see who had spoken. "Oh, no, she's not bad. Good curry earlier. She said I don't eat healthy."

Alex couldn't help but laugh. "She is abit of a health nut isn't she? Trust me, your not the only one she rags on about eating habits..." Normally, being an athlete, he would snack on something healthy, but watching Clarice made him want to rebel and snuck a bag of Milanos from Lorna's secret stash. After taking one, he offered the bag to Clarice.

"Hee, cookies!" she eagerly took one. Cookies should be their own food group and a medicinal cure as far as she was concerned. "So, have Shiro tied to the bed or is he staked outside on a leash?"

"Actually, the next best thing. Leyu is sitting on him." He grinned. "Why do think I'm out of the suite right now?" He chuckled a bit before taking another cookie, then thought about thier earlier conversation. "Seriously, I think he's going to be okay now..."

Clarice nodded, agreeing, "I think he realizes that nuking himself isn't the best idea. I'm just hoping he doesn't try something else. He doesn't like to show weakness."

Alex couldn't but nod at that statement. "No he doesn't...but he's also admitted he was wrong in this instance. And for Shiro...that's alot."

"Him big-heap warrior. Macho," Clarice agreed, "Doesn't need anyone, ever. Or something."

"Something like that, yeah. "He giggled again, munching on another cookie. "But I think he's realizing differently...and that some people need him." Alex didn't have to say a thing to imply himself as one of those people.

"More people than he thinks," Clarice agreed. This agreeing stuff was very...placid. "Don't you skate?"

Alex blinked, mid bite. "Dude, I thought everyone knew that..." Then he laughed and nodded. "Religiously. I even have some jumps set up in the woods."

"Heh, thought those were yours. But you never know, Kylun could have hidden skateboarding urges," she paused considering, "I can't skate to save my life, but I bet Leyu would love it."

Alex raised an eyebrow. "You sure? I bet you'd be good at it!" then he blushed a bit. "And as much as I love her...teaching Leyu to skateboard would be a bit...weird."

"But watching Shiro try would be worth it!"

"You talk him into it, and I'll gladly teach him!" Alex was laughing so hard at the thought that he had to put the bag of cookies down. When he finally got control of himself, he raised an eyebrow. "So...I've heard from Shiro that he's been teaching you?"

Clarice nodded, "Just a little bit. Forms and stuff right now. I'm not supposed to do anything with my katana just yet, only the bokken. I'm not some samurai yet."

"Shiro awesome, he'll have you at samurai level in no time I'm sure. Plus, you know, it's something to keep his mind off...stuff."

"His mind, my mind, everyone needs distraction," Clarice momentarily thought of Paul stuck in the dungeon still, "It's a good way to focus."

"As is skating, but to each his own..." Alex took one last cookie before putting the bag back. "Well, I better go make sure that Leyu hasn't annoyed Shiro to death." He grinned at Clarice. "This was fun...we should do it more often...under better circumstances of course."

Talk to you later, blondie," Clarice grinned back, tucking the chips under one arm, "Mine."

"I'll not tell Lorna about those, promise" He winked at her then waved slightly as he walked out. "Later dude!"

*is so in love with you two* Shiro tells me he's an uberdumbass for nearly abandoning friends like these two. And Leyu thinks her brother's friends are cooler than he is.
