Immediately after their experiment with water, Alison and Haroun come sloshing into medlab, where Cecilia is waiting. Snark and buckets are the perscriptions of the day.

And she'd just gotten used to the quiet, too. "What the hell?" Cecilia blinked, up and out of her chair in a flash as two very soggy, very hurried people came into the medlab. Instinctively, she pointed towards the nearest bed, giving Alison a curious look. "What happened?"

Alison, having caught up with Haroun the instant he walked through the doorframe, and still supporting him to avoid an unnecessarily embarrassing face plant, beamed almost beatifically at Cecilia. And ratted out Haroun mercilessly. "He was trying to develop a new mutation and learn how to breathe underwater," she informed the woman studiously, nodding in the typical way of all tattletales in the universe.

Haroun shot a dirty look at Alison, but then nodded to Cecelia. "Airscoops. Breathe water nicely." he said, before nearly doubling over with a hacking wet cough. "Crap in my lungs."

"Hang him up by his ankles 'til the water pours out his ears," Cecilia said with a roll of her eyes, pinching the bridge of her nose between two fingers. "God. And you're the role models in this place."

Carefully waiting until Haroun could stand upright again, Alison helped him to one of the beds, wincing at the coughing. "Hey! We were decent and all! We kept it out of the kids' sight!" It was, she reflected, nearly impossible not to snark when Cecilia was around.

Haroun rolled his eyes, but the effect was spoiled by another hacking cough. "Yes, well, sorry 'bout that. Got a wet vac that works on lung tissue? I think I inhaled half the pool. But on the plus side, my power works underwater!"

"Oh, yes, it works very well," Cecilia said in a patient tone of voice, reaching over to steer Haroun towards one of the beds. "You inhaled half the pool, you ass."

Yep. Snark was the ticket! And honestly, Haroun should know that women hunted in packs by now. "He had a good go at the rest of it too. Got out and then fell back in," Alison muttered, sounding aggrieved. "Nearly gave me a heart attack."

Haroun looked at both Cecilia and Alison with suspicion. "Go ahead, laugh it up." he said with greatly feigned resignment. In truth, he was smiling the entire time. "I'm an idiot."

"Yes, you are," Cecilia agreed. "Lay on your left side while I go get you some oxygen. And a bucket." She smiled brightly at Haroun, waggling her eyebrows. "When the mask gives you air, you just spit into the bucket."

Haroun did as instructed and waited for Cecilia to return with the mask and bucket. "I'll be fine, really." he said, but then spoiled it with another wet cough. "Gahhh!" he said intelligently. "Why don't you go get some dry clothes, Alison. I'm not going anywhere for a while."

"I really should make sure Alison is alright, too, before she goes," Cecilia observed logically, batting her eyelashes at Haroun as she handed him the mask. "Besides, I'm sure she's worried about you. No reason she can't stick around and make sure you don't drown on us. Speaking of which.." She looked over to Alison, tilting her head. "This is pool water, not salt or anything, right?"

"Pool water," was the reply, Alison rolling her eyes as she spotted the aforementioned bucket in nearby. "Lots of pool water," she added, walking over to the bucket and leaning down to pick it up, gazing down at it pensively. "I dunno if this is big enough."

"Oh, stop it already! Besides, most of the crap in my lungs got left poolside. It's not going to be fun cleaning that mess up. Alison, can you get someone to blow a breeze through there, ventilate that stench out? It's like everyone here ate beans and felt the need to share it with the world." he groused. "In a word, it stinks."

"It stinks in here too, now. I'll let you explain why to Madelyn when she comes back down." Cecilia grinned, and lightly patted Haroun on the arm. "Now put on the mask and start inhaling, bucko. Don't worry about looking good when you do this, it's pretty impossible. Just get the water out."

Surrendering the bucket to Cecilia with an angelic grin for Haroun, Alison moved to the controls for the air filtration system in the room, fiddling with the dials for a bit. "Mind if I add just a bit of heat to this, Cecilia? Is kinda cool in here," she asked, a shiver crawling down her spine as she peered down at the controls.

Haroun grinned, even around the O2 mask. "Nah, it feels _just fine_ in here." he leered. He took deep breaths, trying to purge as much of the pool water as he could from his lungs. Unfortunately for him, it was take a breath, choke, spit out pool water + mucus into bucket. Lather, rinse, repeat. He then looked at Cecilia and grinned. "Don't you think so?"

Cecilia couldn't help but roll her eyes, and reached down to pat Haroun on the head before she turned towards one of the cabinets. "Let me get you both some towels. And blankets." She paused, and eyed Alison. "And pants."

Haroun shook his head frantically at Cecilia where he was fairly sure she couldn't see him. Turning to look at Alison, he grinned at her and mouthed "Sexy. Very nice." at her, eyeing the smooth expanse of well-toned leg Alison was showing off by standing around in her bathing suit.

"Oh, it's okay, Cecilia," Alison called over her shoulder, still eyeing the panel studiously. "Hank messed around with the controools again," she muttered to herself, not sure if she wanted to dare this. "Really. I'll just... turn up the heat a bit, s'all." She shifted her weight slowly, nerving herself up to change the temperature setting on the console somehow.

Cecilia's return was heralded by a towel coming sailing through the air towards Alison's head. "Oh, just wrap up," she snorted, moving over to spread a second towel over Haroun's side. She'd throw it at him, but he was too busy to spread it out himself.

Haroun, feeling playful himself, spread himself out like he was modelling himself underneath that towel. For good effect, he waggled his eyebrows at Alison and looked as innocent as he possibly could.

A snort of amusement greeted that display, Alison wrapping the towel around her shoulders and stretching out her arms, drying out her back quickly. "You'd kill a friend of mine posing like that, you know? He'd go off muttering about finding a camera and doing Bad Things if you ruined the shot." She wrinkled her nose. "Only no. The smell would send him off screaming." She wrapped the towel around her waist loosely, grinning unrepentantly. "He'd howl at me too, for that."

Cecilia glanced between the pair of them before she rolled her eyed, turning to go fetch a heart monitor. "This is a medical facility," she observed dryly. "Not a singles bar. Save it for the bedroom, you two."

Haroun sighed. "Look, I'm sorry about the smell. I didn't know my power would react with water like this. I'd go take a shower, but..." he said with a shrug. He then looked at Cecilia. "I don't know, Cece, isn't there something medically pressing you should be doing right now this very instant?" he grinned. "I'll behave."

"Actually, there is," Cecilia replied, turning to give Haroun a pointed look. "Go back to draining your lungs. You can pick up the pop star when you aren't here to avoid drowning."

Haroun batted his eyelashes at Cecilia outrageously. "Bye!" he said, waving like a little boy.

"Why are you saying goodbye?" Cecilia called over her shoulder. "You're the medical emergency. Ass."

"Now, now, boys and girls, play nice!" Alison chanted cheerfully, leaning back on a nearby bed, highly amused by Haroun's antics. "Got the air going," she pointed out unnecessarily, as the room was already a bit more comfortable for the wet and cold people, at least. "Actually, I should go get you some pants or something. Those will be murder if you let them dry on you," she said, waving at the still wet leather pants. "You have a spare in your locker in the team facilities, right?"

Haroun nodded. "Yep." he said. His brain suggested many other things he could be saying, or better yet _doing_, but he ruthlessly kicked them back down. "Street-clothes in the locker room of the pool, spare uniform in the team locker."

"You didn't try and drown yourself too, then?" Cecilia asked Alison, a small hint of approval in her tone. Good, that someone hadn't. "If you aren't hacking up a lung or seeing stars, go ahead and get cleaned up."

"Gotcha! Be right back!" She grinned and trotted off, planning for a very quick shower and change of her own before returning with pants in hand.

Haroun mock-pouted at Alison as she slipped out of Medlab. Abandoning him here with the big meanie Cecilia. He hacked and spit as instructed. "I'd kill for a shower, Doc. Can I borrow the one here, if I promise not to wrap my mouth around the showerhead and breathe deeply?"

"I think we'll wait for Alison and Madelyn to both be here, let your harem give you a sponge bath," Cecilia replied dryly, giving him an unamused look. "Or we could wait even longer and let Hank do it. Up to you."

"As appealing a thought as that is, I was _really_ hoping for the sooner rather than later approach." he said, pouring on what charm he could muster at Cecilia. "I stink."

"And you think I'm going to trust you with a showerhead after this stunt?" Cecilia asked, arching an eyebrow pointedly. "You can ask Doctor Bartlett if you're allowed to shower like a big boy once she gets here. For now, you sit, you reek, and you drain."

"I'm beginning to think you don't love me anymore." Haroun pouted, then hacked and spit into his bucket. "When did you decide to become so cruel?" he whined at her with a wink.

"When did you get your brain replaced with tapioca?" Cecilia countered, dropping into a chair nearby so she could keep an eye on him. "Because I think both happened at roughly the same time. Honestly, what the hell were you thinking? You're a jet, not a submarine."

"I had to know." he said after a moment's thought. "And it worked, but because I am tapioca-brain I forgot about the airscoops. I'm surprised it wasn't worse, guess the boiling water disrupted the water flow into the intakes. As for when my brain turned into tapioca - I blame puberty."

"Puberty is a hazard to your health," Cecilia agreed solemnly, sighing and rubbing at her face. "Once Maddie gets here, I'm taking a damned nap."

Haroun bit back the obvious reply about needing her beauty sleep - because she really didn't.
