Charles follows through on the administration details of the Mistra rescue, for the Gibneys and the other families.

Six files were neatly stacked on his desk in two piles, some nearly an inch thick - others containing a single sheet of paper. For a moment, Charles allowed himself to lean on the desk, weariness showing through as he sighed tiredly. The five files he had set aside after setting down the phone would be sent to the proper authorities the next day - the calls to the families where that applied taken care of by the FBI.

The last file was tugged closer slowly, one fingertip wedging the paper against the smooth wood. Opening it slowly, Charles scanned through the pages - first the papers they had obtained from the missing persons database, then the actual file on the boy himself. And last but not least, Madelyn's medical report on his condition. The smile was faint but undeniable, tinged with relief and a touch of hope. This one had a chance. A good chance at that.

Reaching for the phone, Charles decided to make this call himself - perhaps there was something he could offer the boy. Something more.

One repented as one could.

"Good evening. May I speak with Tyler or Pam Gibney? Ah. I have good news for you, sir. About your son, Kyle. Yes, he's been found, alive and well."

There was joy to be found, even in the darkness.
