The shelter was chaos, pure and simple, but at least it was somewhat organized chaos with Moira in charge. It almost reminded Paige of her history books, nature versus humanity, with all the bandages and warm drinks being passed around. Tying off another minor injury she shooed a little girl over to her mother, giving Jono a reassuring smile. He’d been her shadow since early that morning but was thankfully following orders somewhat well, especially after she had taught him how to clean and wrap a simple wound.

Angelo led his little group of the rescued into the shelter, and over to the makeshift triage desk. "Got some more patients for you", he announced.

Pushing back a piece of hair that had escaped her tight French braid, Paige smiled a little. “Angelo. So good to see you’re all right.” She ushered the teenagers into the proper order as she spoke, stopping a handful of them to form a line in front of her. “You’ve been busy I see.”

Angelo smiled, now his charges were off his hands and he could relax. "You could say that. We found this lot over at the high school, trapped in a basement, but I think they've mainly got cuts and bruises. John and Sarah are still out there with Ms. Blaire."

“We’re very lucky it was nothing worse, then,” she replied in her optimistic tone, starting a quick wrap on a boys arm. “Are you okay? Anything I need to fix up? Are they okay?”

"Everyone's fine, as far as I know", he answered. "Although if there's a change of clothes lying around anywhere, it wouldn't hurt. That basement was kinda flooded."

Paige turned slightly, blindly working on the wrap with practiced precision. “Jono! Where’d they put the spare clothing?”

Jono mutely pointed, concentrating on his current job and not especially wanting to attract too much attention with his “voice”. Paige nodded in response and returned her full attention to her wrap just in time to cut and tie.

“There are some clothes in the boxes where he pointed. Looks like they haven’t been moved yet. When you’re done changing could you find somewhere out of the way for them? We keep tripping. Next please.”

"OK. I'd better let you get on with your work, and I need to get back to mine as soon as I can. Stay safe, and I'll see you later", Angelo replied before going in search of the boxes.

“Will do. You too, chickpea.”
