Alison finds Lorna and her team and they move walls and other small objects.
Late Sunday.

With a final thanks for the burly ambulance driver, Alison hopped out the door, ending up drenched within minutes of stepping out in the pounding rain. She started to look around for Lorna, but was soon waved over by one of the rescue workers - the man didn't even stop to stare at the glow of light about her, and just pointed towards the side street, mouthing at her that the "Green haired Lady" was there and waiting for her.

Lorna was leaning against a conveniently, or more likely deliberately, bent light pole. Her hands were wrapped around a cup of coffee that she was more inhaling than drinking. She looked up as Alison approached, green hair plastered to her face. Though her hair had been brown that morning, courtesy of her recent trip to visit her parents, sometime around hour seven the dye had stripped away and she now had a definite verdigris color scheme going on as her eyes, hair and even lips all were matching shades of green. "Hey," she greeted Alison, not putting anymore effort into it than necessary.

Taking in the sight of her Alison stepped in closer, shifting her light levels to radiate a bit more heat than before. "Hey," she answered back, near unable to keep still for even a second, energy radiating in every movement she made. She took a careful look at Lorna, noting the way she was hanging on to her coffee - and the rescue worker hovering nearby, giving the green haired woman very careful looks every now and then in case she might keel over. Nodding in approval at Lorna's guardian angel, Alison turned her attention back to her roommate, upping the heat a bit more. "How have things been going on your end?" she asked, taking a quick look around.

Lorna acknowledged the heat with a little smile but shaded her eyes so as not to ruin her night-vision. "Not too horrendously. Can you clear that wall?" She nodded to a half-fallen brick wall on top of a mangled pile of metal, "I need to get that mess out of the way but I'm afraid that wall debris will hit someone if I move it right now."

"Sure, I've been doing a lot of that today," Alison replied after giving the location a good look. "I like the hair," she called out, moving a few steps away and sizing up the debris intently, before pointing her hand at it and shining a beam across the rubble, as though mapping the entire thing. "D'you need me to section things up in smaller sizes while I'm at it, or just vaporize the better part of the brickwork?"

"Mmm, hurrah for not having to get the dye stripped." Lorna followed her roommate, not really wanted to waste the effort on shouting. "I don't care what you do to get rid of it so long as my team can get past there." She turned a distant look on the mostly collapsed building, "There are people in there and this is the fastest way to them." She couldn't have explained how she could tell that the faint buzzing she was feeling in "that" direction was people but she'd been relying on it all day and it hadn't been wrong so there was no point questioning it.

"I'll vaporize the debris while I'm at it, then," Alison nodded, suiting actions to words and raising one hand in a pistol like gesture, bracing herself with her other hand. Light lanced out towards the bricks, and soon hissing crackling sounds filled the area, the wide angle of the laser doing quick work of the lighter density debris, thinner more intense lasers slicing carefully through some of the metal girders afterwards to make Lorna's work easier.

"Thanks, Lite-Brite." Lorna unceremoniously reached out with both hands and "shoved" the pile of metal to the side then lifted about half of it out of the way entirely. Some of this she dumped onto an already large pile of metal, the rest was melded into a wide arch that molded itself to the hole in the building. Once that was set, Lorna continued to feel out the supports, checking for weak areas and fixing them when she could. "Steve, Mike, Aaron, Sam, you guys can go ahead." There was no need to add an injunction to be careful. As the rescue team streamed by, light glinted off the many pointed star that each had pinned carefully on his collar.

Sliding a look towards Lorna to take in her condition, Alison stepped a bit closer to her while keeping a beacon fixed in the direction of the gaping hole in the wall itself to help the rescue workers. "Got markers set on them," she stood by Lorna, not really feeling the cold and used to being wet by now.

Lorna didn't even bother to nod, "Mike fell. Took a while to find him; metal is easier to track than people. So, pins." She was very pale and her eyes are dark and shadowed. The tension in her jaw and shoulders as she concentrated on holding the building up made her tremble ever so slightly. She started to walk forward into the building after her team. They had her directions on where to find the trapped people but she wanted to be sure they didn't run into any other obstacles.

"Lorna," was the calm interruption, followed by a light but unmoving hand on her shoulder. Shaking her head, Alison stepped in the way. "You've got things stabilized for now," she said gently. "You're shaking like a leaf. If you go in and slip and lose control, it won't be any better." Giving Lorna a firm look, she continued. "This is going to be your last run for the night. You're heading off to Beacon shelter to rest up afterwards."

"I'm not leaving until they get those people out of there." Lorna didn't waste any effort on emotion but her tone left no doubt that there would be no swaying her on this point. "Those are my guys and I'm not leaving without someone watching their back."

Alison took one look at Lorna's expression, and didn't even try to talk her out of it. It would be easy enough to contact Alex as soon as she was out of Lorna's earshot, and send him over to collect her instead - and she suspected Alex would have a far better chance of success which wouldn't involve knocking Lorna out cold.

Lorna gave Alison a quick nod of thanks and obligingly back tracked to her former position at the light pole. "I think we're done with you here," she said, settling in again, all her attention on the building.

"All good," was the matter of fact reply. "You take care of yourself too, roomie," she tugged at a green lock of hair, giving Lorna a concerned smile. "I've got two other locations to cover." A gust of wind blew across the street with a cracking sound, and Alison glowed brighter, ever so briefly. "I'll see you soon," she finished, turning to head off towards her next rendez-vous point.
