A short log, backdated to Thursday afternoon. Alex wants to give his adopted big brother a birthday present, and Hank discovers a new victim with whom to share an obsession.

Hank was in his office, catching up on some work, with his Buffy DVDs sitting on his desk as a lure. "Finish documenting the calibration of the PsiSuck 2000, and then you can watch us!" he could hear them murmuring. "Work faster, Hank!"

The siren song of the Vampire Slayer Goodness did not, however, drown out the tap on the door, and he looked up and smiled as Alex peeped around it. "Greetings, small brother," he said solemnly. "Have you come to wish me a happy birthday?"

Alex grinned as he saw Hank inside and after placing the small tray down on a near by surface, he quickly went to hug his adopted big brother. "Indeed I have and to see for myself your healthy again!"

Hank returned the hug. "Aww... I'm just fine. Better than ever. And as soon as the kitchen is well again, Scott is going to help us make a marzipan foot to put in the new fridge." He grinned. "And you can blame it all on me, and Lorna won't be able to get TOO mad because it's just high spirits after my brush with death."

Laughing at the thought, Alex playfully slapped him on the shoulder. "Man, I'd love to help you guys but something tells me you'll need a distraction to get Lorna out of her new kitchen. It's a sacrifice but I'll gladly lend my services if it means Scott getting in trouble!" That thought just made him laugh untill he remember his present. Detangling himself from Hank the blond retrieved the tray and place it before the big blue doctor. On it were pieces of chocolate shaped like Sesame Street Characters. "Handmade chocolate characters, for our own personal character!"

"Awwww!" Hank made delighted noises. "Alex, this is a wonderful gift! Thank you!" He examined them, and smiled. "I don't know if I'll have the heart to eat Elmo, he's too cute!"

Blushing, Alex grinned bightly at the fact Hank liked them. "I'll admit I had help. Leyu was quite insistant when she found out what I was making. She made Cookie Monster just for you."

Hank beamed, admiring the slightly lumpy, lopsided Cookie Monster. "That was very sweet of her... I'll thank her, next time I see her. And thank you, too, for going to such effort."

"Hey, anything for my now better big brother. Plus it's the one thing I can seem to make without burning...figured people should benefit from it." He again moved into to give Hank a hug. "Happy Birthday bro."

Hank returned the hug, briefly burying Alex to the eyebrows in blue fur. "Thank you, little brother," he said fondly, moving his arm so Alex could breath again. "It means a great deal to me, you know."

"I'm glad, you deserve it after all." Alex leaned his head back a bit to grin up at him before giving him another quick hug before pulling away. "I'm sure you have work or something that I've interuppted...I'll let you get back to it..."

"Thank you... although if Lorna can spare you for a while this evening, I do have all these Buffy DVDs to watch." Hank grinned. "Are you a fan of the tiny but determined Slayer?"

Alex glanced over at the box containing the DVDs and grinned. "Don't kill me, but I've never seen it before in my life, but I will admit, Ms. Geller is quite hot. I will gladly join you tonight dude!"

"Well, in that case, we'll start at the beginning." Hank grinned. "This was the only season I didn't have." Alex's eyes went a bit wide, and he smiled reassuringly. "I won't make you watch them ALL tonight. It'll take quite a while. But it's worth it!"

"Dude, if you like then that much, they must be!" Shaking his head, Alex retreated further toward the door. "I'll go wrangle up some snacks and sodas and stuff for us while you finish whatever you were working on. Give you two hours? three?"

"Two is fine." Hank nodded. He could watch his nice new DVDs a little later, when Alex had been returned to Lorna. "And I'll bring some snacks too. Fortunately,t he crisis left my stashes of candy and cakelike-confections untouched."

Alex couldn't help but laugh. "Good because you know Lorna won't let me near anything with sugar in it. I'll you in two hours bro, can't wait!" He grinned at Hank before retreating out the door and into the wall, wondering where he could find popcorn in the mansion right now...
