Loglet [Alison, Kurt]
Apr. 25th, 2005 09:07 pmSet last night and this email. After all is said and one...
Climbing up the step ladder leading into Ororo's part of the attic, Alison listened to the sound of her feet shushing against the wood softly and the occasional creak of the ladder in response to her weight. It was deathly silent here at this time of the night, and dark as well. Still, there was enough moonlight streaming through the large oval window at the other end of the attic for Alison to see by as she closed the trap door carefully. She waited a moment to let her eyes adjust and then started to quietly make her way through the plants there, sometimes taking a careful step over a stray branch, sometimes nudging away a tangle of leaves with one hand.
Making it through the greenery she stopped, a few meters away from the window, the faint luminosity of Kurt's eyes the dead giveaway to his presence, though the silhouette highlighted by the moon would have been enough to spot him despite his tendency to bleed into the invisibility in the shadows. Without a word she stepped a bit closer silently, and then stretched out one arm to rest a hand on his shoulder.
He jumped, startled, then turned towards her. Seeing who it was, he offered her a small faint smile of greeting before turning back towards the window.
Still silent, Alison finished closing the distance, leaning on the wall next to him while leaving her hand where it was, looking out the window as well. There were no words to say really, and that wasn't why she'd come up to see him anyway.
Sometimes - just sometimes - being there was enough.
