Letter for Sarah
Nov. 10th, 2003 09:02 amI have just recently heard of the events unfolding in Maine, and I'm saddened that we did not have more time. As you may be aware, Ms Morlocke, I have been dismissed from my position at the school. There are many reasons that have been given, and I have no doubt that you will be told many things which justify that expulsion. To be frank, I believe it was time to leave in any case.
My one regret is that I am no longer in the position to help you as I once was. It is a dangerous time ahead, Ms Morlocke, and I fear that Charles and his captains will lead you into battle on a not infrequent basis over the next year. I fear a war truly is coming, and you stand square in its path. But there are other ways to fight, Ms Morlocke, and as you know better than anyone at that school, there are other ways to survive.
Major Grey Crow is adament that he wishes to continue your training, as long as you wish to. We are doing all we can to find out information about those who attacked you, and how to neutralize them. The Major is a valuable friend, Ms Morlocke. He sees a potential for greatness in you; a power that once you have the discipline to harness, will make you truly extrodinary. I am not speaking of your mutant abilities, but rather your drive and will to survive. You are a remarkable young woman, Ms Morlocke, and I will do everything in my power to assist you.
Unfortunately, we only have so much space for this missive, and time is against us. Know this. Should the time arise that you need assistance, never hesitate to contact me. I have access to resources that can prove very useful when mecessary, and I will not be slow in answering your needs. There are always options in life, Ms Morlocke, for you especially. The only bounderies are the ones you place on yourself.
Regards,
Nathaniel Essex
