Email to Scott Summers
Nov. 10th, 2003 12:56 pmScott,
I'd ask how were you doing, but I know better. As you know, Warren'll be going with us to pick up Shiro. He seems oh, so excited about it. Seriously.
I don't blame Warren for how he's been feeling. Though I think it may not be fair to Shiro. To bring him here at this time with everything that has been happening.
Charles knows what is best, I suppose.
Unbelievably tired,
Ororo

Date: 2003-11-10 07:26 pm (UTC)Emma will be found. I believe in Pete enough to believe in this. As for her captors, I try not to think of them or the Sentinels for too long. I'm afraid Westchester might not be prepared for a localized weather phenonmenon and my focus has been lacking as of late.
Of course, you're right about Shiro. He'd be safer with us than with Magneto any day.

Date: 2003-11-10 07:33 pm (UTC)I will say that she is taking it as hard as I would expect she would. I, for one, was not caught my surprise by her attachment to the good Doctor. After all, he placed such a high trust in her, and we did/do not, so how could she not be distressed?
I would not like to be this Shaw when Pete catches up with him. That's assuming that they have incapacitated Emma enough that she wouldn't take care of him herself.
When are we picking up Shiro again? I have a meeting with Marie-Ange after classes. Should I reschedule?

Date: 2003-11-10 07:50 pm (UTC)I'd say that since his plane his landing around 8p.m. and that we should at least be there 30 minutes to an hour beforehand to get through security.
Does that give you enough time?

Date: 2003-11-10 07:57 pm (UTC)Ororo, I have to ask...what did you think of Betsy's brother? You had more time to talk to him than I did. Does he think we did the right thing with Essex?

Date: 2003-11-10 08:47 pm (UTC)He wants what's best for Betsy and if the Professor wishes to try other avenues, than he has faith in his choice.
But what I did find out, is that Betsy left him a tape. A voice account of her wishes. And no, he didn't go into it further, and not because I didn't try.

Date: 2003-11-11 07:06 pm (UTC)As much as it is painful, if she had wanted us to know, Ororo, she would have told us, even by a recording.
My biggest fear in this is that she somehow knew it wasn't going to end well, and tried to cut all ties in advance.
I'm glad that Brian has confidence in what the Professor's trying to do. It wouldn't be good if he wanted her removed into Essex's care. There's not a lot we could legally do at that point, either.
Hmm...I do wonder if she made any wishes known on the tape about being removed from the school. If things went poorly, I mean. Would her fear of leaving the school trump her confidence in Essex's hands?
I need to talk to Hank.
