xp_logs | Letter to Ms Colbert

There are times in which change must come to us all. Sometimes, the decision to change is ours. Often, the decision lies in the hands of others. Unfortunately, change came for myself much faster than I would have anticipated. You will likely hear several versions of why I have been dismissed. I have no doubt that most will cast me as the villain of the piece. That does not concern me. Ms Colbert, something you will find with age is that how others cast you matters little once you know who you are.

I worry about this staging, Ms Colbert. We are on the brink of a war, and you might find yourself on the front lines due to circumstance and association. As I said earlier, decisions often get away from being solely our making, and that could prove disastrous in your case. Be careful in that place, Ms Colbert. Be very very careful. You may find the choices you have to make forced on you, and I would not wish to see who you are subsumed by who they might wish you to be. You can trust the assassin, Wisdom. He understands the world outside of the ideology, and has a wealth of knowledge on how to survive. If something should happen, go to him first. His priority will be your safety.

I wish I was able to continue with your ideas, Ms Colbert. I wish I could see the progress on your ideas. One day, the world will have to deal with the idea of mutants as a part of society, and of all your fellow classmates, you seem to have the first real thoughts on how to approach it. Society fears what it doesn't understand, but to understand, they must be engaged on the normalcy of it. Familiarity is the most effective weapon against racism. I have no doubt it will form the same baseline for specism as will. Do not give up that project, Ms Colbert. As a life's work, it is far more noble than that of a dreary addled paladin, tilting at windmills and creating dragons.

Should anything happen, please do not hesitate to contact me at once. I will not be permitted to see any of the students, but if you need help, not a soul can stop me from coming to your aid. Be safe, Ms Colbert, and be wary. Don't let the world outdistance you.
