Haroun, after his sparring match pissing contest with Hank, retreats back up to his room to soak his bruises out. Alison catches him at it, and they talk a little about her previous history before fading to black.

Haroun sank into the hot-tub with a hiss of relief. His body had been quite battered in his bout with Hank, although luckily for him it seemed that there wasn't any permanent damage - or really much bruising. His ribs, however, were going to be spectacular
in a few hours unless he headed the damage off at the pass. Luckily he'd managed to catch Alison while she was out, and was thus able to get into the bath without answering a great many questions that he didn't really want to answer. Most of them starting with the word Why.

As it was wont to be in such instances, Alison stepped through the door to their rooms at that point, peering about the common room for a moment until the sound of water drew her attention. There was a Haroun in the tub, and that was always worth sneaking over to say good evening to – showers were usually his preference but he did indulge in the soaking in hot water principle on days the Danger Room sessions had been strenuous or his workouts had pushed things a bit. The door to the bathroom was open and Alison leaned so that only her head showed, grinning cheerfully. "Heeey-" the greeting stopped in mid sound, the nascent bruise on Haroun's forehead drawing her attention. And then some.

Haroun lolled his head to look at Alison - sure, his head was upside-down, but she still looked lovely no matter the angle. "Hi." He said with a grin. "Soaking in hot water should not feel this good." He said with a little groan of pleasure as another tense muscle relaxed a little. "I don't suppose you brought food with you, did you?" he asked hopefully.

"Noooooo." Tilting her head further, she inspected his face, then stepped inside the bathroom to take a gander at the rest of him. "I don't..." She didn't remember him having a DR session that day. In fact, she didn't remember him having anything booked, as per their talk – and she'd been in the Danger Room earlier herself. Walking closer she sat down on the side of the bathtub and leaned over a bit, peering down at him. "That's going to bruise nastily." She reached out towards the bruise on his forehead, though she didn't touch it, fingertips hovering near for a moment.

Haroun blinked at Alison. He should have known this wasn't going to fly. "Had a sparring match earlier this evening." he said truthfully. "And it'll be fine - I heal stuff like that pretty quickly." To distract her, he leaned upwards and kissed her gently but thoroughly.
"Come join me?" he said in his Bedroom Voice.

"Mmf." And then, when looked at him once more, "you're so trying to distract me." She started to peel off her shirt anyway, because bath did hold appeal, though she was still eyeing the bruise doubtfully as she dropped the top to the floor. Then again, she'd reminded him he didn't go for the full 'push things too far and limp to the medlab' format for a while now. It'd make sense he'd go and do that just because. Well, sense in a making no sense at all way.

Haroun got to indulge in one of the finer moments of his life over the last few months - he got to watch Alison disrobe. Even her getting dressed was one of the pleasures of his day, but he liked this one just as much. He smiled at her, and automatically shifted to give her room in the tub. "Found a new sparring partner who can help push my skills to the next level." he said once she was all nicely settled in. "Had our first bout today."

"That's good!" She smiled at him at that, knowing how keen he was on keeping his combat skills honed at all times. Much as she hated the concept of pushing too hard for the sake of training, she could hardly throw a fit considering he had considerably toned it down since they'd started to date. She'd accumulated her own share of bruises while sparring, after all. "Your back behaved?" If so, that would be cause for definite celebration.

"Now all I have to do is convince the big walking carpet that regular matches would be a good idea." he grumbled. "And the back behaved. Even took a shot there - which hurt - but I'm not having any trouble walking or standing upright. Think all the rehab did me some good." He said with a grin. "But let me tell you, I really love this whole hot tub thing. Cuts down my recovery time to almost _nothing_." he grinned as he took her hands in his own and pulled her towards him for a kiss.

Big walking carpet... Alison smiled slowly as he pulled her closer, shaking her head slightly at the nickname. It was typical Haroun, in acceptance of Hank just being the way he was, and not regarding it as anything to be ashamed of in the least. "Hank? He's your new sparring partner?" And Haroun had said that with that odd fondness he showed for sparring partners he thought were good at sparring, rather than frustrating to work with. Anything else was muffled by the kiss, and the sorting out of wet limbs in hot water. "Slippery!" she warned him, catching herself on the edge of the bath before finally settled down against him for another kiss.

"Well, it wasn't quite that straightforward. But yeah, Hank's my new sparring partner. Hopefully." he said, wincing as a stray elbow from Alison grazed his bruised ribs. "I understand he has a prior history with you. I don't get it - you like it when I'm assertive, when you and I both know what we want and aren't afraid to go get it. He's so - passive. Doormat-like. I don't get it."

The wince was noticed and Alison ran her hands lightly on his sides, both checking to see exactly how bruised those would be in the morning and just to do so in general. And steadied herself a bit more against the side of the tub, wet skin on skin not at all cooperating at that moment. Finally getting a level of stability that left her feeling far safer about not suddenly driving an elbow in Haroun's gut (which would not be fun for him and likely result in her denting her elbow against the jetpack at one point) she nodded. "We dated for a about a year after my career took off, yes. And... you view people who are conflict avoidant as passive. Not necessarily so, in reality. Also?" She smiled at him a bit, though she looked entirely serious. "I take you as you are. Issues crop up and when they do, yes, we talk about them and deal with them, but... it's not about changing the core of you. And you're assertive and it's one of the things that makes you who you are, so I cherish that."

Haroun grinned at that. She was speaking Female again, but he knew that look in her eyes, the slight twist to her lips. He knew them well. "Well, if it's assertion that you like..." he said, and pulled her to him.
