Set before this log. Dani goes to wake Forge up. He's a little slow on the uptake, but then again, it's early.

"Forge!" Dani screeched, pounding on his door before trying to open it. Thankfully it wasn't locked, despite being the middle of the night. She continued her attempt at making a mad dash to his room. "Forge! Wake up!"

Sitting bolt upright from where he'd fallen asleep on the couch, Forge practically flew to the door. Opening it a crack, he peered out. "Dani? Holy shit, it's early." He looked over to where Kyle was still snoring loudly. "What's wrong?"

"It's time," she hissed, lowering her voice slightly although it didn't matter since she was trying to catch her breath. "It's time."

Frowning, Forge looked over at the clock. "It's way early in the morning. Not nearly time to get up. Time for..." he swallowed and his eyebrows shot up into his hairline. "TIME?" he squeaked. "Are you sure?"

"Yeah," she panted, checking her watch. "I thought it was a few days ago, and it wasn't, but I'm sure now. Contractions are about nine minutes apart," she gestured to her digital watch, which did not have a second display.

Gulping, Forge grabbed a tank top, sliding his arm awkwardly through it and motioning Dani down the hall. "Go, go! You're not having your baby in the hall!"

"No kidding," she tossed over her shoulder, heading to the couch to sit down, "But you gotta wait a minute!" a few seconds later a contraction hit and Dani made a sort of squealing-grunt noice in pain, trying not to
wake up Forge's roommates.

Forge immediately knelt down next to Dani. "C'mon, breathe, remember? Full breath in, short breaths out..."

"You breathe," she gasped as it subsided, "When you ain't got any lungs! Between the damn baby and the contractions there ain't no way to breathe!"

"Well, they didn't tell me THAT!" Forge hissed, "Some Lamaze class. You going to be able to make it to the doctor? Should I call someone, get a wheelchair, something?"

"I made it here, didn't I?" she retorted, trying to stand. There was a reason she had run to his room instead of walking.

"Yeah," Forge admitted. "But here isn't exactly set up for childbirth." A loud snore from Kyle accented his point and was met with a look of incredulity. "...could sleep through an avalanche..." he murmured, then looked back to Dani, raising her chin with his hand. "Come on, we're going down there. You can do this."

"He complains of hyper senses and he sleeps through this?" she agreed, standing with one hand on Forge's shoulder. She took a deep breath and let it out slowly, "Okay, let's go."

Easing down the hall, letting Dani use him for support, Forge ushered her into an alcove and nudged a panel on the wall. As the floor suddenly began to descend, he wrapped his arm around her waist as she jumped slightly. "I've seen Professor Xavier use it," he explained. "No stairs for you."

"Holy Mother of God," Dani muttered, not expecting an elevator, "Hahkota! You want to give me a heart attack too?"

"If it'll get the baby here faster," he immediately replied sarcastically as the elevator stopped at the medlab level. Taking each step slowly and surely with Dani, he made sure she could stand on her own before opening the medlab door with his hip. "DOC!" he hollered, not certain who was on duty. "Baby about to drop here! Nine minutes!"
