Jul. 19th, 2005 01:04 pmThe day after his birthday, Tommy enjoys a quiet summer day, reading his new book and listening to his new radio.
Kicking his socked feet together in the air as he lay on his stomach, Tommy flipped to the next page in his already well worn copy of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. He'd just gotten it yesterday for his birthday, after a very long wait over the weekend, in which all of his friends had already finished it. HIs parents had promised it to him since his brithday was two days after its release and at the time, Tommy thought he could wait. Apparently not. The weekend had been the two longest days of his life. Even JOSH of all people had finished the book before Tommy even got his. So since he had had summer school in the morning, Tommy had locked himself in his room for the rest of the day to finish it.
Being on of those people who can't concentrate in complete silence, his new boom box was sitting next to him on the bed, music playing softly. His old one had been sat on by Duncan after an FOH meeting and this new one had been a brithday present from Josh and Duncan, with new CDs thanks to the twins. Right now, he was listening to a mix Andrea had made him for his brithday, one of his many small presents from his girlfriend, his normal girlfriend...though not nearly as beautiful or smart as Ter...nope back to Harry Potter.
As he finished another chapter, Tommy moved to turn the page and heard the song change. It was the mysterious song that Andrea had heard on an indie station and insisted that the boys hear it. At first, Tommy hadn't really thought much of it, as this was a common thing for Andrea to do, but after hearing the song over and over again, it really began to touch him. He'd smiled brightly when he saw it on the mix and was touched Andrea had noticed how much he acctually liked the song, which he usually didn't admit to around the boys. Now as 'Wonder' played he lifted his eyes from the book for the first time in hours and just listened, a small smile on his face.
But once the song was over, it was back to Harry Potter. Only 143 pages left!
