Tuesday afternoon, Lorna has some questions for Haroun about Alison. He's is not reassuring.

Lorna was surprised by how long it took to find Haroun. He wasn't down with the 'bird or sparring or in the DR. In fact, he was in the kitchen which hadn't even been on Lorna's mental list of places to look for him; she was just wandering through on her way from the medlabs up to his and Alison's suite. From the look of the food he was gathering, he was probably headed back that way soon. "Hey, Haroun?" She rapped on the wall to get his attention as she entered the kitchen, "Got a minute?"

Haroun looked up from his food-gathering. "Sure, so long as you make it a quick minute." he said, pulling silverware out of a drawer and adding it to the very full tray he was assembling. "What's on your mind?"

"Alison. She seemed…I don't know, just really off yesterday. Did something happen or…I mean, she forgot her own birthday. Hell, everyone forgot her birthday." Lorna surveyed the tray he was building--all Alison's favorites. She wandered to the pantry and retrieved a box from within another box and set that on the tray as well. Alison's tendency to steal the little cookies had led to her hiding them though they seemed to be the only two in the mansion who liked them. "That's not really like her."

"Off is a good way to put it," he said, hiding his wince about her birthday. He'd been offline since the concert, and thus his reminders hadn't popped to make him aware of small inconsequential details like that. "I can't really go into details - team business - but we get exposed to a lot of really sick people out there. Sick things. She's taking it a little hard."

Team business? Bizarre thing to say to someone on the team. Lorna blinked. If it was a mission that did this, it was a lot more serious than Lorna had thought. Alison didn't shake from missions this easily. "The mission reports are locked. There isn't even a complete list of personnel available." Checking up on the logs had been part of unpacking and reorienting herself last night. It was rare but not unheard of to completely lock a mission. She hadn't thought anything of it until right now.

"That's correct." he said. "It was deemed prudent given the nature of what happened." he said flatly. "I really can't talk about it, as much as I might like to." he said. "She's due for some TLC for a while from all of us. Hence the tray here. Don't want to smother her, but just to offer some support."

Lorna's eyes widened slightly. She nodded. "Right. Of course." He couldn't talk about what had happened even to Alison's best friend? She'd just flipped over into full-blown worry and a niggling sense of dread made her shiver. "Um…yeah. Thanks." She shoved a hand through her hair. "Let me know if she needs anything."

Haroun sighed. "She'll be fine. Just give her some time." he said. "And if you know what she likes to eat, make a whole lot of it for us?" he asked with a wink. "I need to go get this upstairs before the Ravenous Pit of Rock devours my furniture." he said with a grin.

"Cooking I can do. Especially for her because she likes everything." She twisted her hair back out of the way, automatically. "I'll make you guys dinner." She smiled as if reassured by his flippancy. "Talk to you later?"

Haroun nodded. "Sure thing. Say, how was Hawaii? You get settled out OK?" he asked her as he picked up the tray. "What do you plan on studying?"

"Yeah, I've got an apartment all my own. It's really cute." She slipped her apron over her head and tied it behind her. "My major is geophysics. Alex's too, actually. It's odd how our interests coincided there."

"Geophysics? Interesting. Hadn't figured you for a hard-sciences type. Rock." he said with a grin at his own wordplay. "Anyway, gotta run. If you're in town for a few days, I'd like to have dinner or something."

"Yeah, no one ever expects it. It's like the Spanish Inquisition of majors." She grinned, "I'll be around for another three weeks or so. Reserve your dinner timeslot now."

"Fine. Let's set it up for Wednesday night, seven o'clock? That work for you?" he asked her with a grin. "Catch ya around, Lorna. I'll let Alison know you were asking about her."
