She did say she'd tell.
Nov. 23rd, 2003 01:31 amAlso set early morning the 19th.
rahneofkinross: After leaving her encounter with Haroun, Rahne has ended up outdoors, mostly in wolf-form or something near it; however strange Dr. McCoy's hours might be, she doubts there's much point going to look for him immediately. Now it's approaching morning -- perhaps she can check before class....
She spots motion and lopes back toward the path. Still not quite as clear on the adults' scents as the younger kids', she has to get close enough for a good look....
truecolorsdazzle: Alison jobs down the path at a quick clip, having decided on an alternate route from Scott's this morning, needing some time to think on her own. She doesn't use any of her power to light her way, trying instead to work on stealth in the dark, eyes now used to the dark. She's enjoying this, more than she thought she would, and she wonders what that heralds for her, now that she's a full fledged member of the X-Men.
rahneofkinross: Rahne comes up to the path just alongside the jogger and trots alongside for a moment, then woofs once, softly, and stops to concentrate on making a partial transformation that won't leave her... embarrassed.
truecolorsdazzle: "EEP!" Alison falls into a tuck and roll, light flaring from her hand to shine on the wolf that somehow appeared out of thin air at her side, only belatedly realizing that this must be Rahne, the shy scottish girl she's seen so rarely about the mansion.
rahneofkinross: Rahne yelps -- a strange sound with her throat somewhere between wolf and human -- at the flare of light, painfully bright to doubly sensitized eyes, and falls over backwards mid-transformation. Concentration almost completely shattered, she realizes that she's a little too cold and too familiar with the path and curls up frantically, eyes squeezed tightly shut as she throws the transformation back the *other* way and covers herself in fur again. If Alison could still see her skin, her face would be very bright red.
And it has to be Alison; only a few people jog this early and Rahne rather doubts they carry torches like that. "....Ms. Blaire?" she asks hesitantly, opening her eyes gingerly and trying to blink away the dazzle.
truecolorsdazzle: "Oh man, Rahne, I'm sorry! You startled me," Alison admits, wincing slightly because yes, that was oh so vigilant of her, getting lost in her thoughts like that. Erk. She can't help but watch Rahne intently - the girl's temporary nakedness hardly an issue as far as she's concerned, but the shift and changes of her transformation uttelry fascinating. Huh. The no clothes thing is awkward though.
She walks up to her, careful to make some noise on the ground so Rahne knows she's coming near, even though odds are she'd hear her anyway, what with the natural hearing of her wolf form. "Keep your eyes closed a bit more, and that ought to help..." she offers, leaning to crouch next to her.
rahneofkinross: "I'm sorry...." The lightly rolled R in Rahne's natural accent takes on the smallest hint of growl with her voice altered. "I didna mean to."
truecolorsdazzle: Alison chuckles lightly, recovering from her own startlement easily enough. "I'm going to put a hand on your shoulder now, okay?" she reaches out slowly, suiting actions to words, and then reaches for her face, tilting Rahne's face towards her slowly. "Not your fault, you did fine, really. I should have been more aware of my surroundings. Now try and opening your eyes slowly once or twice, long blinks. It should be better now, I was just using normal light..."
rahneofkinross: "I should probably remember that just because ye ken I'm about doesna mean having a big dog trot up in the dark's no surprise," Rahne mutters ruefully, blinking carefully and managing to focus on Alison's face through some lingering afterimages.
truecolorsdazzle: "Heh, not the most obvious thing to think about when you know you're there, eh?" She pats her cheek once, than resumes her crouch in front of her, hands moving to rest on her knees. "There you go. You should right as rain in no time." She pauses, then gives her a cheerful grin. "Pun unintended."
rahneofkinross: Rahne smiles back slightly and carefully stands up again, brushing herself off with some remaining embarrassment. She can't believe she... Arrgh. She still needs more practice. Deep breath. "I, er, did come up for a reason, if ye've got a minute...."
rahneofkinross: Alison is, after all, a teacher. And a fairly nice one, it seems. That means she can tell *her*, and maybe get something done. And she can still look for Hank later if she needs to, after all.
truecolorsdazzle: "So I see from the determined look on your face," Alison nods as she straightens up as well. "Fire away, I'm listening."
rahneofkinross: "Well... I've been out for a while now; I got up early to practice a bit." Rahne folds her arms, looking down for a moment. "I... saw Haroun earlier."
truecolorsdazzle: Alison frowns slightly at this, and nods carefully - seriously doubting Haroun would have even considered getting into another fight, unless it were with Sarah again. "And...?" she trails off, letting Rahne continue.
rahneofkinross: "I think he should really go see Dr. McCoy."
truecolorsdazzle: "I suggested that to him when I broke up the confontration between Sarah and him," Alison says carefully. "And I spoke to the Professor about it later... he said he's speak to him." A pause. "You're saying this for a specific reason though, aren't you?"
rahneofkinross: "Well... I suppose it's handled then, but even if he went before he should go again." Rahne frowns and nods herself. "It's... he's got infected."
truecolorsdazzle: "... he hasn't gone yet, that I know of. That's what the Professor and I were worried about this morning." Alison's eyes glaze over for a moment, as she considers. "The Professor said he'd talk to him - if you'd like though, I can always try and find him later, to check up on him."
rahneofkinross: Rahne nods once, quickly. "I'm none too sure what he's planning, really. He said --" She shakes her head. "Well, I donnae ken for sure what he really means to do about it. But he's been treating it himself, and 'tis no good."
truecolorsdazzle: "Gotcha. I'll mention that to the Professor and Hank, just in case. And still look him up." She reaches out, patting Rahne's shoudler. "Thanks for letting me know. I appreciate it."
rahneofkinross: Rahne nods. "Thanks for seeing to it. I ken he's had worse, and all, but...." She wrinkles up her nose. She can still remember the smell all too keenly.
truecolorsdazzle: Alison notes the gesture, filing it away among many other such little notes about the many students at the school, then looks Rahne up and down, quickly. "Mmm. And I think we'll need to do something about your clothing situation. Can't be easy always having to balance like that rather than go through full shifts. Though it's got to be doing wonders for your control over it," she ends cheerfully.
rahneofkinross: "'Twould be nice.... Somebody suggested clothes that could turn into a collar once, but how that'd work...." Rahne shrugs. "Besides, maybe some people wouldna like it...."
truecolorsdazzle: An eyebrow rises slowly at that, and Alison shrugs. "It's not about what other people like, kiddo. It's about making things more comfortable for you. Why don't I mention it to the Professor, and Hank? Or the staff in general, mmm? I'm sure a few will be up to the challenge."
rahneofkinross: "If it wouldna be too much trouble...." Rahne looks down and blushes. Although not really visibly.
truecolorsdazzle: "It's what I'm here for, remember? I listen to the students, and nag the staff about things." She winks at Rahne.
rahneofkinross: "'Tis not exactly urgent -- embarrassing, but not very dangerous," Rahne returns sheepishly. "But I'd like it."
truecolorsdazzle: "Good. Consider it done then. I'll bring it up today." After a firm nod, Alison eyes the path. "Mmm. Care to join me while I head back to the mansion? I'll roust Hank on this now, I think..."
rahneofkinross: "I'd been thinking I'd look for him before class," Rahne agrees, starting back alongside her. "I suppose hours wouldna make much difference after all this time, but I didna like the smell."
truecolorsdazzle: "Why not? The more of us looking out for him, the better the message might get through to him, mmm?"
rahneofkinross: "I hope so."
