Alison decides that it is time to spoil Haroun rotten. Fluff.
Curled up on the edge of the bed, wearing a silk night robe, Alison waited for Haroun to wake up, peering down at him none too patiently. It was really very inconsiderate of him to oblige her by sleeping through the alarm clock she'd turned off. It was also, she knew, proof that he'd needed the extra sleep after everything that had happened. And all the effort he'd been putting into just being there for her, on top of everything else. "Sleeeepy head," she crooned lowly, smiling a bit while resisting the urge to tickle him. Instead, she ran her fingertips down the side of his face lightly, needing to touch, to at least do that much.
Haroun, by habit and inclination a light sleeper, reached up to grab Alison's wrist. Once his brain engaged, he let her arm go with a sheepish look. "Sorry." he said around a jaw-cracking yawn as he tried to shake the last of the cobwebs away. "What time is it?" he asked her, and then it dawned on him what she was wearing.
Sheer. Silk. Robe.
"Heeeey." he added with a grin. "Did I miss something?"
She'd been expecting the motion, used to it by now and had let her arm follow the motion, until he let go. "Laaazy head. Look at you, all sleepy looking still." She smiled at him, leaning down to kiss the tip of his nose. "Morning breath. Ugh." Stretching out one hand, she help up a grape, looking solemn. "You almost missed something... breakfast in bed." The grape hovered near his lips, Alison beaming at him happily. "My turn to spoil you rotten, today."
Haroun blinked a few times while he processed that idea. "You don't have to..." he said in a half-hearted protest. "I haven't done anything spectacular lately." he said dubiously.
"Nothing spectacular?" Alison shifted to lie down, resting her hand on the other side of his body to semi-drape herself on his chest. "You've just been the island of solidity in my life for the past two weeks or so, every single second of every day. You think I hadn't noticed?" She paused, still holding the grape, waving it around a bit as she spoke. "I know I haven't been the easiest to be around of. But you never said a single thing to make me feel as though I was a burden. Not once. And I know it must have been tiring at times…"
Haroun shrugged that off, innate modesty and unwillingness to take the shine off her accomplishments at war within him. "It was tiring." he admitted. "I didn't exactly like sitting back and watching you tear yourself apart. So I had to do something." he said modestly.
"You did more than something." She was going to cry on him soon, if she wasn't careful. And she'd done enough of that already in the past few weeks, so instead, she leaned down to kiss him firmly, and then presented the grape to him once more. "And I am very very grateful for all you did. Now eat your grape, dear."
"Yes dear." he said obediently, and snatched the grape from her hand with his teeth. "Good grape." he said with pleasure as he chewed and swallowed. "Very good grape. So what's for breakfast?" he asked with waggled eyebrows. "If you're going to soften me up by spoiling me horribly, I might as well enjoy it."
Scrambling to the side with a cheerful murmur, Alison reached over to drag the small table she'd set the tray on closer. Slowly. "Hrm, lessee… fruit, toasted bagels which are still nicely warm, jams and cheeses and other things to put on the bagels, figs, strawberries dipped in chocolate, fresh pressed orange juice and..." with a small flourish, she plopped herself back on the bed, half draped over him once more, "...I made mint tea. All on my own." She walked her fingertips up his chest idly, and then made a small 'oh' of remembrance. "Oh yeah... I have stuff to show you after from the shopping trip yesterday. Can't forget that."
Haroun's stomach picked that particular moment to remind him, in No Uncertain Terms, that he required sustenance. Now. "OK." he laughed, picking up a bagel and some of the orange juice. "You have completely lost your mind, but that's OK."
Wisely, Alison decided to let him eat first before letting him know exactly what she wanted to show – she'd worked hard enough on getting the whole breakfast in bed complete with flowers on tray deal to want that to be enjoyed properly before distracting him. A lot. Picking up one of the strawberries (of course!) she bit into it slowly, enjoying the lack of underlying tension about him, noticing all the small signs of highly exercised self-control fading slightly. And then made sure he took a second bagel, only to steal half from him without a single sign of remorse.
Haroun was feeling a great deal of the tension of recent weeks leave him as he ate and drank his fill. The tea was getting better all the time - he would quite happily drink this blend as a day-to-day drink, and save his own preparations for meals and special occasions. The bagels were still quite warm - Haroun suspected she might have been cheating and using her power as a sunlamp - and the fruit was cold and juicy and delicious.
He'd been neglecting himself, Alison realized, eyeing him a bit critically as he ate his way through a far larger portion than usual, without looking as though it had been too much at all. Done with eating herself for the past few moments, Alison curled up and unashamedly offered him a strawberry now and then, with a teasing smile. She had a few things to do for Scott that were team related and was planning to sneak into Rachel's room later for a quick and quiet and non people stressful visit, but for now, Haroun was going to be the sole focus of her attention. And, judging by the slowing down in nibbling at the strawberries, he was nearly done...
"Sooo. Guess I should show you what I got yesterday." She offered him the last strawberry with one of those innocent 'moi? plan something?' looks he knew so well. "Well, other than the strawberries. And all the stuff I have to sneak to Alex to hide in his luggage for her later." She paused artfully. "Well, if you have time..."
Haroun crossed his hands behind his head and leaned back. "As it turns out, my schedule for today is relatively clear. Unless you need me for something, in which case I could block out a great deal of time if necessary. And judging by that look on your face, it is extremely necessary that I do so."
"Extremely necessary indeed," Alison nodded wisely at that, neatly setting the tray aside and now out of reach in favor of leaning in for a long, slow kiss. "Because I have a lot to show you," she tickled the side of his neck lightly, fingernails still the same shade of blue as the previous day. "And I'm going to go take care of the first thing I want to show you while you free up your schedule." Pushing up she went to retrieve her laptop, set up so that he could easily access his schedule, and placed it on his lap in the bed. "Be right back!"
Haroun grinned. He'd caught the blue nail polish - so very typically Alison that it made him smile. A few tapped commands, some grumbling at Windows, and Haroun's schedule was cleared for the rest of today. And tomorrow as well, at least tomorrow morning - his sleek black mistress was crying out for a little more attention, and he'd been neglectful lately.
Quietly opening the door, Alison let him finish his work, leaning in the doorway of the bathroom with the night robe half open and gracefully draped in a semi-revealing way. Simply waiting for him to notice her was infinitely more fun than actually announcing her presence, after all. Hopefully, though, her laptop would survive the process.
Haroun pushed Alison's laptop to the side and looked up at Alison. Although he would vigorously deny it later, his jaw dropped. "Oh my." he said with a grin. "You went shopping, didn't you, you naughty thing?"
"Mmm. Whatever makes you say that?" she purred, quite cheerfully so while being more than satisfied with his reaction. She allowed the night robe to slide down her arms with not even the slightest of hesitations as to what else this revealed while purposefully making her way towards the bed in a lazy walk. "And this is just the beginning..."
Haroun swallowed heavily and grinned. "Suddenly I am very glad that I've cleared my calendar." he said with a small laugh. "And that you fed me. I'm going to need my strength for the trials to come."
