Sorry you're all getting this as a lump, rather than your own individual messages, but it's faster this way. I don't have time to post on the journal system much at the moment, so I'm not saying this on there because I can do without trying to have a ten-round fight with half the faculty right now, but I've had an hour or two to read back and see what's been going on and I'm hugely proud of all of you. Well done.
Whatever the outcome of all this, I am completely convinced that you did absolutely the right thing and I'm only sorry I'm not likely to be there to stand up for you all properly when you get back. For all the faculty will convince themselves that Essex used and manipulated you (and for all I know, he did), at some point every one of you made a choice for yourselves, and I figured that it'd help to know that there's at least one person who thinks you made the right one. If Essex told you that she would die without his care, then he was probably right - there's no-one else on the planet remotely as qualified as him to make that call in this case, not even Charlie.
So, yeah, you did the right thing. Well done.
Xavier suggested that I teach a class in critical thinking next semester, and I think I'll probably wind up taking him up on that. I hope you'll all sign up.
A couple of other things:
Kitty - we've narrowed it down to Northern France, and more likely that not, Paris. But we're pretty much dead ended here, so as soon as you're back, I really need you and Doug to go through anything and everything Shaw's got in the area - at this point, I think it's time to start looking at email logs and that sort of thing, looking for details. Best of luck.
Sarah: Charlie's a dozy sod for killing off your lessons with Crow, if they were helping you out. If I can't get him to re-instate them when I get back, then you and I will start working on something a bit more advanced than the self defence class, if you want.
Pete
