Having been gossiped at, Kitty tracks down the source for some better information. Terry confirms what Kitty's been told and Kitty does her best not to be traumatized.

Kitty knocked on the door to Clarice's and Terry's suite, knowing Terry was in there on her own, and did at least wait until Terry called out 'come in' before phasing through the door. "So," Kitty said without preamble, " word on the grapevine has it that two of my surrogate siblings have realized that surrogate-hood is not actual sibling-hood. Care to comment?"

A giggle and a blush was not exactly a comment but it was pretty close. "When did you get back? I didn't expect you back so soon." Or that the grapevine would be so ruthlessly efficient. Terry really needed to learn not to doubt it. "Sit, want something to drink? I have, uh, water. And more water."

Kitty plopped onto the end of Terry's bed, pulling her knees up. "Water's good. We got in, oh, maybe ten minutes ago and Jubes pounced. She's a grapevine of one, but highly efficient."

Terry tossed her a water bottle and opened one for herself. She should have guessed. The old mansion kids still stuck together even when they seemed totally disparate. "I thought her jaw was going to fall off when she found out. Should have figured that she'd make sure she got the joy of seeing you react."

"See, and now I demand details. NOT," Kitty hastened to add, cracking open her own water, "any of the TMI sort, as I'm still firmly in the Bobby-is-my-brother-figure camp, but other details must be had. How? When? Whositsawhats?"

Terry giggled, "He kissed me that day. When I got attacked?" She looked briefly upset then shook off the memory of the fair and Tommy. "Then last Thursday...I asked him to make me ice cream. And we, uh, talked."

Kitty nodded. "Talked. Right. Talked is good. Talked is not scarring the kitten in any way shape or form. Was the talk a good talk?"

"No, literally talked." Terry laughed. "Well, and "talked" but that was later. First I tried to tell him that we should just be friends. Then I started crying because I'm a huge idiot and I hadn't sleep in days. At which point he kissed me again." She curled up and rested her chin on her knees. "I think there's still some rose ice cream left."

"Boys who know when to stop listening to what you're saying and just kiss you are the good sort, yes. And rose ice cream sounds both tasty and really romantic." Kitty took a sip of her water, considering Terry. "I've got to admit, it's a little weird to think of you and him, but if you guys are happy then I'm all for it."

"It's still a little weird for me too," Terry confessed. "I mean, on one hand, he's Bobby and we grew up together. On the other, I've had a crush on him since I was fourteen." She grinned, "I always thought I'd be the one to convince him that it would work."

"Insert appropriately edgy sisterly comment about how you can do a lot of 'convincing' now, but you'll have to come up with the comment on your own, cause I don't think I can say something like that about Bobby." Kitty grinned at Terry, mostly joking. "Seriously, though, I think you guys could be cute together. Although you'll have to watch it on the ice cream..."

"Ah, now you've discovered my real plan! Now I get all the ice cream!" Terry laughed maniacally. "Mine, all mine! I shall eat it every day and be one thousand pounds."

Kitty giggled, sticking her tongue out at Terry. "Oh no you won't! I am sneaky, and also stealthy, and I will liberate the ice cream!"

"You can try," Terry said, her blue eyes bright and gleaming, "But I control the ice cream production now. Just like you get pranks on the spot, I get ice cream."

"Yes, you will definitely be getting the first fruits of his labor, but if there is stockpile you know I'm going to find it. Nothing will keep me from the ice cream."

"I'll just have to guard it then. Possibly by sitting nearby with my boyfriend and engaging in activities you'd rather pretend didn't exist....and oh, God, you won't believe what happened." Terry smacked her forehead, "I can't believe I left that part out."

"What?" Kitty asked, leaning forward. "Ok, after a lead up like that you have to share." Even if it was on the list of thing she'd rather pretend didn't exist, that was far too tempting an intro to skip.

"We were...um, "talking" in the rec room. On the couch and Dr. Grey walked in." Terry blushed brilliantly red at just the memory. "I think I had a heart attack."

Kitty blinked. "Oh dear God..." she breathed. "That would... that would... I think I would die."

"I'm pretty sure I did." Waves of remembered horror passed over her again. There were worse people to be found by, sure, but the list was small and started with her father so that wasn't saying much. "I've never moved so fast in my life."

"Definitely one of those times everybody wishes they had my power, huh?" Kitty asked. "Did she say anything? I've never known what was worse, the 'you guys know better than to do this' or the 'you guys are smart enough to be careful, so go ahead' thing."

"I was hoping for a demon attack. Nothing says, quick, look over there, like a demon attack." Terry laughed, finding it funny now instead of deathly embarrassing, "She just told us to find someplace else for our ice cream party. I got the feeling that she didn't care so much as she didn't want us...talking...in public."

"God, I think I'd still prefer the quick death. Although, hell, it's not as though she probably doesn't already know what we get up to, but... it's one of those thoughts that I'm happier pretending I've never had."

"'Paths are fine so long as they don't remind you that they can read your mind." Terry agreed fervently. "And Dr. Grey really doesn't have much room to scold us. She and Mr. Summers were just as bad when they were younger." Granted not as young as she was...okay, not thinking about that.

"Hell, she and Mr. Summers are just as bad now. I walked in on them by the pool, and hell, now I'm going to have to go back to pretending I never saw that..." Kitty shook her head.

Terry didn't have any trouble at all imagining that judging by the way she looked as though someone had hit her on the back of the head with a board. "When was that?"

"A day or two before the pool party. There was definitely an excess of PDA."

"Wow..." Terry looked sympathetic, "I'm sorry, Kitty. Did you have to see Samson about it? Because...wow. Aren't adults supposed to be more discreet?"

"And this makes two. Although walking in on Al and Mr. al-Rashid was my own fault. Or, well Lockheed's." Kitty shook her head again. "I'm going to be in therapy until I'm thirty."

Terry fell over, having been leaning back and balancing. Her water came with her and splashed all over. "Alison and...when was that? How do you get into these situations?"

Kitty couldn't help but laugh. "That was ages ago. Didn't Jay tell you? Maybe he was as traumatized as I was. We were doing flying lessons with Lockheed and the wind was too strong and blew him through their window. We didn't know what was up in there, of course, but we found out pretty fast when we went in after him. Traumatized for life, I'm telling you."

"Huh," was Terry's response as she got back up, brushing water droplets off her face and retrieving her bottle. "No, he didn't say a word. Wow." Terry shook her head. "You really are going to need therapy for the rest of your life."

"Yep," Kitty said, just shrugging. "I've accepted this fact. There are some trauma's so deep that you just know that you'll never recover." She grinned. "But, now that we've seriously derailed the conversation... Have gotten the info I came for, you know. Now I need to go hunt Bobby and tease him for, oh, the next five years."

Terry grinned, "Okay but fair warning, in about half an hour I'm going to track him down and start doing traumatizing things so for your own sake, you should make yourself scarce before then."

Kitty gave Terry the thumbs up. "Thanks for the warning. I'll keep that in mind. As the girlfriend, where should I go looking first? Or has your boyfriend locator not kicked in yet?"

"Try his room. Or the pool, freezing helpless swimmers." Terry giggled, grinning absurdly wide at being the girlfriend.

"Grand, sounds like a good starting place to me. And congrats, babe. I'm happy for you, seriously."

"Thanks, Kit." Terry got up and demanded a hug from her long time friend. "Don't tease him too much okay? I don't want him scared off before we even start."

Kitty managed an innocent look. "Would I do that?" She giggled, then hugged Terry again for good measure. "I promise to lay off the 'she's like your sister' angle entirely."

"And the age. Don't mention age." Terry nodded seriously then grinned. "But other than that tease away."
