Angelo was on the third floor, running from Kitty and Jamie, not helped by the fact that he could hardly breathe for laughing. He knew they'd catch him sooner or later, but he intended to stay away from the snow for as long as possible.

Having just woken up, Jake decided to go see if there was a kitchen somewhere where he could cajole some food off a cook. He stepped out of the room and was immidiately run down. "Woah! Hey, hey, hey!"

Angelo skidded to a halt, shooting a quick glance over his shoulder to see how far away his pursuers were. "Hey! Sorry, can't stop, I'm being threatened with snow." He turned to race off again, then stopped. "Er. You're new. Welcome to the house!"

Jake blinked. "...Okay. Hey. Can you tell me the way to the kitchen before you escape?"

Angelo brightened. "The kitchen! She won't check there till she's been to my dorm! Sure thing. This way." Glancing over his shoulder again, he dashed off, leaving Jake to follow as best he could.

Jake ran after the teenager, completely lost, but hoping he'd end up somewhere with food. Food was good. Maybe there was even Thanksgiving leftovers! "I'm Jake, by the way," he said when the teenager finally paused.

"Angelo", he answered. "And *this*", pushing open a door, "is the kitchen. I would stay and chat, but Kitty'll find me if I stop in one place for too long."

Jake paused and stepped backwards into the hallway. "Hey. You know what? You get in there and get me food and I'll point whoever looks like they're looking for someone..." Jake pointed in a random direction. "Thatway. All right?"

Angelo grinned. "It's a deal. You're looking for a pair of kids, 'bout fifteen. The girl's probably carrying a scarf and gloves, maybe a coat." And with that, he ducked into the kitchen to get out whatever food he could find.

Jake stood outside the kitchen, trying to look as though he wasn't waiting for someone to turn up. Luckily, he only had to wander around casually looking at paintings for a couple of minutes before a pair of teens matching Angelo's discription popped up. "He went thataway," Jake said quickly, and the pair seemed to buy it, persumably being to caught up in the chase to really notice him. When the pair was out of sight, he wandered into the kitchen.

Angelo had found a good healthy serving of leftovers, and got them out of the fridge for Jake to choose from. He was now sitting at the table, grinning. "Thanks, man. They'll be back this way eventually, but at least I get a break from running."

Jake grinned. "You're welcome. Ooh. Food." He went to sit down across from Angelo, beaming at the food. "Why were you running, by the way?"

"They wanted me to go *outside*", Angelo answered, shuddering. "In the *snow*. Not if I can help it."

Jake gave him an amused look. "Southern?"

"Californian", Angelo answered. "First time I've seen snow outside the TV, and I think I'd rather just watch it from the nice warm house."

Jake laughed. "I see. Personally, I'm just home from Sudan, so seeing the snow is actually weirdly pleasant."

Angelo raised his eyebrows. "Sudan? Wow... Which state are you from, then?"

"DC." Jake started piling food on his plate. "Is this as good as it looks?"

"Absolutely. We have a resident superchef - Lorna - who just happens to be my roommate's girlfriend. Comes in handy."

Jake tasted the first thing his fork hit and rolled his eyes towards the ceiling. "Heaven. I see how that can come in handy, yes. This is incredible. Why are there leftovers?"

"There won't be for long", Angelo assured him. "She tends to get a bit carried away when she starts cooking."

"Well, I, for one, am grateful," Jake stated, before digging back into the food.

Hearing hurried footsteps in the corridor, and Jamie and Kitty's voices approaching, Angelo shot to his feet. "Think I hear my cue to get out of here. Nice to meet you, man. See you around, yeah?" Without waiting for an answer, he dashed out of the room and down the corridor, managing to stay just ahead of Jamie and Kitty.
