Monday evening. It's not stalking if it's your boyfriend.

Kitty shrugged her Xavier's Institute sweater jacket on, zipping it up, only half paying attention to the discussion in the changing room.

"And so I said..."

"You didn't!"

"I did."

"What did he do?"

Really, girls were obnoxios on the whole. She and Paige might do the girly girl thing for the hell of it, but this? Way too much to deal with. Not that they weren't nice girls. Far better than Karen and some of the girls at Stevie's, but girly to the max. The main gaggle of them headed out, still chattering, and, grabbing her bag, Kitty trailed after them.

Not really paying attention, she didn't notice they'd come to a stop, peering out the window down at the front steps.

"Oh, there he is again! I've seen him all around campus, but it seems like he's always here when class gets out..."

"God, he's so hot."

"Ew, are you kidding? So not my type."

"Why do you think he's always hanging around? Think maybe he's got a thing for one of us?" The burst of giggles that answered this was enough to get Kitty's attention.

"What are you talking about?"

"There's this guy who's been hanging around. He's here all the time. Totally creepy. Maybe he's, like, some sort of stalker."

"Are you kidding?" There was a general shriek of disagreement. "He's totally hot."

"So not creepy. You're nuts!"

"Yeah."

Raising an eyebrow, Kitty peered out the window, then grinned. Opening it, she leaned out and addressed the boy below, much to the consternation of the other girls. "So, we're trying to decide if you're a creepy stalker or just a totally hot dancer groupie. Have you got an opinion?"

Jamie laughed. "You wearing a leotard? I'm willing to accept 'creepy stalker' if you're wearing a leotard."

"God, no. Way too cold." Kitty shuddered.

"You want to do dinner before we catch the train?"

"Sure, be down in a sec." Leaning back, Kitty shut the window before turning to the gaggle of girls who were staring at her. "Um... My boyfriend," she said, by way of explanation.

"Woah. Kitty, your boyfriend is totally hot."

Kitty grinned. "Trust me, I've noticed. Gotta run." Waving she hurried down the stairs and out the front door. She stole a kiss before tugging Jamie down the street. "Starving. Food now."

"Any preferences on where we eat? Or do we just find a restaurant before you start gnawing on my leg?" Jamie grinned. "So what was the consensus? Am I a creepy stalker after all?"

"Nah, you're too boyfriendly to be creepy. And it's not stalking if, you know, I don't mind you following me around. But I'm agreeable as to food. Maybe eat closer to Grand Central?"

---

Rage turned his vision red as blood, rushing in his head momentarily drowning out the sound of the couple's laughter. No! It wasn't right. She was his not that hulking boy. That fool could not give her what she deserved, could not treat her as the precious, fragile gem that she was. So great was his anger that he'd stalked after them, jacket catching the wind and flowing back, snapping with violence that matched his emotions. He would destroy the boy and take his prize...

When they turn to investigate the footsteps behind them, there was only the wind. Sense had restored itself and he hid away in the shadows, reminding himself that he must be patient. She would come to him. It was only a matter of time.
