Private Email to Charles Xavier
Dec. 2nd, 2003 07:11 pmChuck,
I've got a crew together to put the windows up, I'm going to strip out the rain gutters as well. Things look like you've had a monsoon tear through on a regular basis.
One thing I think I ought to know, though - what the hell is up with the media circus? I ain't exactly mister public relations, but if they're going through the mansion, you ought to make sure some stuff's out of sight. Like that stuff in the sub-basements, I assume that's not going to be shown on CNN? Somehow I don't think the American public would take too well to Xavier's Mutant Army on national TV.
And yeah, about that. What in the hell are you thinking, Chuck? It's one thing to do your civil rights campaign - you always were an idealist like that. Ain't nothing wrong with that. But these kids you've got teaching history one day and dressing up like ninjas to go on covert operations the next - someone's going to get killed that way, Chuck. That's what playing soldiers does.
Now that you mention it, I was going over some of the files - what in the fuck was Bill Stryker doing in this house? Last I saw him, it was '62 and he was flying a Huey into VC flak to rescue a stranded LRRP troop, and now apparently he tried to kill you? Who in the hell ELSE have you pissed off, Chuck?
You got some explaning to do, Chuck. I'll be around when I get back from town.

Date: 2003-12-03 06:45 am (UTC)As for the gutters . . . Ororo has lost her temper a great deal more often than is usual for her, of late, and the weather tends to mirror her mood when she is particularly overwrought, a control problem we've been working on for years with little effect.
The X-Men . . . are an explanation best done in person. They were not part of my original plan for the school, but . . . plans change, or are changed, and they have become necessary; and your warning is, sadly, already redundant. I will see you when you return.
