Kitty goes walking again, and the wake up she gets is more shocking than most.

The hunting hadn't been that good for some reason, Catseye mostly making do with a few voles and sluggard mice caught unawares too far away from cover. Trotting back to the mansion had kept her warm against the chill of the oncoming winter season, the prospect of a warm bed to find and burrow into (after delivering the current prize she held clenched in her teeth) cheering her up immensely from the lackluster outing.

Squirming inside the mansion was done the usual way (which had been instituted by a very stern looking Lee after the last time she'd triggered the alarm in her early days of wandering about) and after dropping off her prize for the lucky winner, making sure the mouse was dead and not about to scurry about and make a mess, Catseye headed off to do one last round of the mansion before turning in for a nap. Or maybe two.

It was the ghost of a heel disappearing through a door as she rounded the corner which drew her attention. Pausing for an instant, she then bounded in that direction, pausing only to shift long enough to open the doors in her way as she tagged after the sleep walker, knowing only too well that the amount of shifting she was doing would require yet another snack (this time in the kitchen) before she could get a quiet moment of rest. It wasn't the first time she'd seen the girl wander about the mansion at night, though the last few times had been unusual - just as this time, in fact. Walking in an oddly slow, steady way while going through doors… it perplexed the catgirl, as if speed had been of the essence, surely the sleepwalker would have simply gone in a straight line with her abilities, right?

Indeed, while Kitty seemed to be taking the most direct route through the mansion, anyone who really understood her powers would know that it wasn't, not by a long shot. Her feet made soft whispers through the carpet, proving she was solid though she drifted through the building like a ghost.

There was nothing aware at all in the girl's movements, despite the odd purpose that was present somehow, showing through in the path she was taking. Catseye was careful to be quiet and follow from a fair distance as the flight of stairs leading to the ground floor was navigated with eerie composure, waiting until Kitty had moved a few feet away from the last step before striking.

It was cold outside and Catseye wasn't going to put up with any nonsense about anyone but her (and perhaps Kyle and Rahne) wandering about outside without any shoes at all.

Somehow, possibly not all that surprisingly, being woken from a dead sleep by a set of sharp teeth sinking (fairly gently, although it didn't feel it at the time) into her ankle was more shocking than the usual hand on her shoulder. Kitty started to wakefulness with a cry, instinctively phasing away from the grip on her ankle and spinning about.

And there was no one there. Blinking, Kitty looked down. Ah, of course. "Good God, Catseye. Ow." Moving to look at her foot Kitty suddenly realized where they were. The bottom of the stairs. She hadn't made it so close to leaving the building since Ms. Munroe had stopped her the first night. "Oh. Right. Um, thank you."

"Mrr!" Well, she'd been led around the mansion in a merry chase, which meant Catseye felt no guilt at all about stretching up, paws resting on Kitty's thigh in a demand to be picked up. Best way to make sure that one went back to bed was to go along with her, after all, she decided smugly. And the bed might even still be warm and snuggly to boot! "Mrreow!"

Kitty was enough of a cat person to recognize the insisted 'pick me up pick me up pick me up!' look, and smiled, although the look was broken by a yawn. Hauling the other girl up into her arms she shrugged as she turned to head back upstairs. "Lockheed's gonna protest if I let you sleep with me, you know," she said idly. "And Jamie'd have a field day if he heard me say that."

Catseye merely settled in Kitty's arms smugly, purring loudly. She'd stopped Kitty before she'd gone out where it was cold and she'd been picked up right away too in reward. And Catseye figured the little dragon, despite the grousing, probably wouldn't mind another source of warmth, most particularly with how chilly it had been outside of late. And if he complained too much, she could always make the sad eyes at Kitty and cheat horrendously that way. Stretching out one paw lazily, eyes half-closed, Catseye decided this was an excellent plan in every which way.
