Paige and Jono; scenelet
Nov. 28th, 2005 01:56 amSometimes it's hard to forgive. But they're doing it, one step at a time.
“You smell like him.”
Paige crawled over her boyfriend, ignoring the way his eyes rolled in annoyance at her late hour and toeing off her socks at the same time. Her jeans were already on the floor, to be picked up in the morning when she was, well, awake, and she was just adjusting the blankets around them when he said it again, firmer this time.
“You smell like him.”
“Baby...” Paige groaned, throwing a leg over his thigh as she nosed into the side of his neck. “It’s late. I’m tired. And I smell exactly the same.”
Jono’s eyebrows drew into a dark line, his eyes following suit by narrowing into slits. Obviously her observations weren’t going to settle this. Paige sighed quietly, leaning back just enough so that she could make out the line of his jaw. “Look. You’ve been really supportive, and I know that’s hard. I know you keep expecting me to screw up again, and I deserve that. But I just spent a whole long weekend away from my best friend, and I wanted to see him, and you were being so good, bringing me downstairs-“
“You missed him.”
“Of course I missed him,” Paige replied quietly, bringing her lips to his neck. “But I could have just stayed down there. I came back early. To be with you.” Smiling, she felt her teeth brush against his skin as she slid her hand under the t-shirt he was in. “And I know how to make it so I don’t smell like him anymore...”
Rolling them over lightning fast, Jono grinned and Paige laughed. “Well. Glad I don’t have to ask twice.”
