Haroun and Alison are kicking around their differing ideas for what kind of wedding they want to have. There's not much agreement here.

Haroun sighed as he stretched in his favorite chair. "This is not going well." he said with a sigh. "We're not hitting any agreement points on even what kind of ceremony we want, let alone when or who to invite or who's catering or any of that." he said, eyeing the copy of Modern Bride magazine she was not-so-successfully hiding. "Why don't you tell me how you imagine it going down, then I'll do the same, then we can try to find some way of blending the two in ways that make us both happy."

Still hiding the copy, Alison shrugged, a touch elaborately. "We've already gone over this so many times, do I really need to say it again?" The comment was without bite though, in contrast to some of their previous arguments - she knew she hadn't been reasonable on some of the things she'd wanted, but at the same time, if she was going to do the marriage thing... the perfect fairy tale wedding did have more than its share of appeal for her.

"All right then, allow me to sum it up for you. You want a big fairytale wedding, and I want a Moroccan wedding. The two don't jive so something is going to have to give if we want to do this." he said, exhaling hard to try to relieve himself of some stress. Why was it that these discussions with Alison always resulted in him having a back you could break a baseball bat on? "We have some financial concerns, remember?" he pleaded with her.

"I know!" The reply came out more sharply than she'd intended it and Alison shook her head, apologetically so. It was ironic, she thought, that their first venture in funding something equally was resulting in this, never mind considering what this was for. Sighing, she let her shoulder slump. "I don't want to argue about this again," she admitted, shaking her head once more. "And I'm sorry. I just..."

Haroun stood up and walked over to drop to his knees in front of her, taking both her hands in his. "Hey." he said to her softly. "We'll make it happen. Maybe we won't have the big fairytale with the coach and the white horses and the cast of thousands in white satin. And maybe we won't have the henna and the all-day all-night celebration and the feast. But _it will happen_." he told her simply. "I have faith."

But she wanted the fairytale with the coach, and the white horses and the cast of thousand in white satin. Of course, she just plain wanted to be with Haroun far more than that. Alison sighed and leaned forward, holding on to his hands while resting her forehead on his shoulder, the solidity of his presence enough to calm her down, to soothe her nerves. "I know you do," she murmured, knowing that his confidence in that thoughout the entire proceedings thus far had been her one constant, in fact. "I want it to, too..."

"What more do we really need?" he asked with a grin. "The rest is just details. We'll work it out. At this point we should establish a budget, then we can say "Look. We have so much money to do this wedding. Let's take it step-by-step and walk it through." he offered. But in the back of his head he made a mental note to go check on the cost of white horses. Just a rental. For a day.

It couldn't hurt.
