Log - Kitty and a vision
Jun. 17th, 2006 02:49 pmSeems like it's Kitty's turn.
Kitty was cleaning up the dishes from her late lunch, drying and putting them away, when a flash of familiar white gold caught her eye out the window. She looked up with a smile, planning to call out to her best friend, but her voice caught in her throat at what she saw, and the glass she was cleaning slipped out of suddenly nervless hands to fall back into the drying rack, miraculously unbroken.
The white blonde hair, the bright blue eyes, the brilliant smile - she'd know them anywhere. There was no question that the girl running outside in the back yard was Kitty's best friend, Illyana.
And she couldn't be more than eight years old.
It wasn't until the little girl moved out of the line of sight from the window that Kitty was jolted into action, phasing through the wall to get outside. But there was no reaction as she cried "Illyana!", the girl running on as though she hadn't heard Kitty, vanishing around the corner of the house. Kitty ran to catch up, but when she turned the corner, the little girl was gone.
"Illyana..." Kitty's voice was quiet, lost sounding, as tears began to slip unnoticed down her cheeks.
