Crystal's back from San Diego, and wants to know why Marius has left. Jennie doesn't have any answers for her, and has an important announcement of her own.

Crystal stormed through the halls of the mansion, kicking up gusts of wind as she walked towards her suite. Behind her, something crashed to the floor, but Crystal was too wrapped up in her thoughts to notice. Marius was gone? What did that mean, gone? Where did he go? Why did he go? Was there anywhere else on this planet that had a willing all-you-can-eat mutant buffet?

Outside the door of her suite, Crystal paused for a moment, trying to compose herself. Large gusts of wind pounded at the door like an invisible hand. Walking inside, loose objects and small pieces of furniture fell prey to the winds. Hands were not needed to open the door to her room.

"Jennie!!! Where is Marius?!"

Jennie looked up from where she was on the floor, going through a small shoebox. She hastily put the lid back on as Crystal's winds scattered the loose objects in their room. "You're back," she said rhetorically, "welcome. You haven't missed much, Mr. D burned out his brain, Jay has taken off to follow his dreams of being a rockstar, and-" Here she couldn't keep the anger out of her voice, "Marius has decided to piss off to parts unknown. No forwarding address, and no warning."

"Burned out his brain?" Crystal frowned, pondering this information. "And he is alive? I assume that if he was dead you would have said so...and Marius just left without telling you? Someone must know where he went! I cannot think of anywhere else he would be able to, ah, obtain what he needs to continue living. Or is "eating people" no longer a requirement?"

Jennie shoved the box back under her bed, and reached over to her bedside table, picking up Marius's note and handing it to Crystal. "He left me a note. Forge and Kyle got one, too. At least he had the decency to do that. Me and Forge ganged up on Moira Tuesday, and she says he's made arrangements for his 'diet' and that once he gets done with whatever he's doing now he'll be going back to Brisbane. But I know him, he's not going home. And I have no way of getting a hold of him, wherever the hell he's gone."

Crystal read through the letter, looking at Jennie and returning the note when she had finished. "Do you believe he intends to return here at some point?"

Jennie shrugged noncommitally. "Dunno. Probably not. Not exactly a whole hell of a lot I can do about it either."

Crystal shot Jennie a quizzical look. Avoidance. Denial. Great. "You can worry about him. You can support him whenever he returns. Are the members of the staff not worried?"

Jennie leaned against her bed and tried not to glare up at Crystal. Her temper was extremely frayed at the moment, and she didn't need to be breaking things in the room as well. "Well, a lot of them are indisposed. And they have other things on their minds...Moira wasn't too happy about it. But he said he was going home, and they couldn't really stop him." If only he had really gone home, then Jennie wouldn't feel so nervous. Marius had no experience being "out" as a mutant. The most he went was being seen in public with his Xavier's schoolmates.

Crystal recalled Marius's conversation with his mother; the one that had ended in the destruction of his cell phone. Perhaps he had changed his mind and had returned home, but possibly not. If the adults in the mansion were not concerned, there was nothing she and Jennie could do. Searching for him would be useless. He could be anywhere. "I am very sorry for what has happened. I cannot imagine what he is going through, and I am sorry that he feels this is no longer the best place for him, but I believe he is wrong. No matter what happened between you two during a hard time, he should have known that you would still be there for him."

"He knows." Jennie said quietly. "His note says as much. I just wish he would have had the balls to say it to my face." Jennie sighed. "Well, you'll be happy to know that you'll soon be roomate-less for a while here shortly. I'm taking off as well. But-" She held up a placating finger. "I will return. I'm going to visit my family at their summer home. In Italy. I can't believe I just said that. 'Summer home in Italy...'" she added with a slightly incredulous look.

"I hope you have a good time," Crystal smiled. "I have had my own thoughts about returning home for a visit. How long will you be away?

"Just a few weeks. I'm leaving Saturday." Jennie smiled as well. "I'm a bit apprehensive, seeing as how I've never met said family," Oh how I wish Marius was here, so he could tell me what to expect, "but, it'll be good for me. Get out of here, away from all the drama. Hopefully things'll settle by the time I get back."

"Maybe Marius will come to his senses and you will come back to find that he is here, waiting for you." Judging from the letter and what Jennie had said, it wasn't a probable idea, but it was a nice one.

Jennie laughed dryly. "Yes. He'll be back. And maybe I'll wake up and find out I'm an hieress to a Greek shipping company. Oh wait." How strange, that the former was now less probable than the latter. "So, you gonna help me clean up?"

"Clean? Clean what?" Crystal asked confused. The winds had long since subsided, but as she quickly scanned the room she became aware of what they had left behind. "I should probably start by checking the halls beginning at the Medlab..."
