Crystal assumes the trip to NYC is a group activity until Mondo shows up at her door to suggest they go together.
Mondo was in a good mood. While it was true that most of his moods were on the sunny side of life as a general rule, his mood _today_ was fantastic. He was making excellent progress in his physio, there were all kinds of new people in this amazing place to go say hello to, and now there was a field trip into New York City to go on!
Mondo just had to go find someone to share his excitement. And he knew just the right person, too. Someone who was getting all frowny lately - someone who could use a little sunshine in their life.
So here he was at Crystal's door, knocking on it just like he'd seen countless Americans do on the television. He was tempted to just walk in, but he had to respect that it really bugged people for some reason when he did that.
Crystal had just stepped out of the shower when the knocking began. Without hurrying, she picked up her towel and wrapped it around herself. Surely someone else would answer the door. The knocking continued, and Crystal realized that her suitemates were either out of the suite or perhaps one of them was just taking a catnap. Sighing, Crystal walked quickly to the door and opened it. "Oh, hello Mondo!" she said, surprised to see him there.
Mondo grinned at Crystal. "Good morning!" he replied cheerfully. "When you're done with your shower I have something I would like to ask you!" he added enthusiastically. Man, this was going to be SO! MUCH! FUN! He was almost vibrating with anticipation of the fun they'd have.
"I am already finished with my shower," Crystal laughed. He was there to see her? Mondo seemed very, very excited. "What would you like to ask me?"
"Did you see the posting on the journal about the New York trip? Since we're both not from around here, I thought it could be a lot of fun if we
went together!" he said with a happy grin.
Had she seen the posting? She'd nearly been pulling a hyper-Mondo herself about the trip, trying to make sure the new students knew about the trip and felt welcome to go. Either Mondo didn't read all of the journals, or he was asking just to have a starter for his question.
"Oh, it's not a group activity? Everyone will split up?" That didn't sound very safe, especially considering how new some of the students were to their powers. Something was bound to break, explode, or get set aflame.
Mondo nodded. "It's my understanding that we're all doing our own thing." he said. "But everything will be just fine! I know it!" he said confidently. "We should go together! I want to see everything!"
"Fine, we will go together!" Crystal replied, her eyes widening a bit. Was it possible for Mondo to make a calm statement? One thing was for sure. It was now impossible for her trip into the city to be anything close to boring. Mondo would see to that.
