Wanda and Scott, Backdated to October 30
Oct. 30th, 2006 09:02 amScott decides to stop by Ororo's suite for an early morning talk. What he gets is an exhausted looking Wanda. They catch up.
He'd been up stupidly early again - okay, so sleeping hadn't happened in more than fits and starts the night before, but the insomnia was his own damned fault so no one was going to hear him complain. Rather a lot of school paperwork had gotten done as a result, however, and once it was a decent hour he decided that he'd take some of it upstairs for Ororo's opinion and maybe see if she wanted to have breakfast, too.
Her door was closed as he reached it, and he knocked lightly. Surely she was up by now, he reasoned. Although really, he ought to have brought at least coffee up with him...
The door swung open to reveal an incredibly bleary eyed Wanda, hair sticking up in all directions, staring at Scott. "Knocking," she told him sternly, "is evil and happens to match the pounding in my head. Thankfully for you, I have coffee." She took a sip and hitched Ororo's borrowed robe back over her one shoulder.
Scott stared at her for a long moment, raising an eyebrow. Okay then... He had seen weirder. But now he was curious. "Sleepover?" he offered, very innocently.
"Oh, it is not like either of us got that much sleep," came the sweet reply as she edged backwards to let him into the suite. The sound of running water could be heard in the background. "I am drinking coffee, I never drink coffee."
Scott grinned, enjoying this perhaps a little bit too much. "Well, so long as you both had fun..." He shook his head at Wanda. "And we must see about properly converting you, you coffee heathen, you..."
Rubbing at her head, she gave Scott a sour look. "If you could not convert me when I lived here, I doubt you could break Amanda's tea enthrallment." Settling on a chair, Wanda grinned at Scott. "And yes, yesterday was a great deal of fun. Spa, shoe shopping and then a club. The tension not only melted away from both of us but fled the area entirely."
"That's good." Scott tilted his head at the continuing sound of running water from the bathroom. "I was bringing her paperwork, but, well... only I would show up first thing in the morning with paperwork."
Wanda looked amused. "I do that occasionally, though I do tend to cart breakfast with me or steal the person away to the little place down the street that we all like so much." She stretched her legs. "How long have you been working this morning?" she asked slyly.
"Oh, a while," Scott said vaguely. "I'm very productive first thing in the morning, you know..."
"Mmm, of course you are," came the reply. "So what have you been up to lately? I seem to be swinging by the mansion more often due to Jennie's lessons and the occasional drunken debauchery with Ororo but have not been able to see much of you."
"The headmaster thing, as per usual. I've been taking over some of the training responsibilities from Ororo..." Scott didn't figure he needed to tell Wanda why. Given the drunken debauchery. "Refitting the Blackbird."
"Oh good, I thought the Blackbird might get a little...jealous considering what I saw parked in the garage." Arching an eyebrow at him, she took another sip of coffee with a grimace.
"Oh, you saw my car, did you? It's a very nice car," Scott said almost contentedly. "Haven't had nearly enough time to spend with it to get it just so, but that'll come."
"A car like that makes me almost regret the inability to drive a car," Wanda mused. "Almost. Though considering everything that has happened in the past few months, I may want to learn. My love is still to my motorcycle currently, though."
"You can have more than one fast thing in your life," Scott said. "After all, I have three."
"I do believe we call that a harem, Scott," she teased. "You have a harem of fast, sleek gorgeous pieces of machines. I might get Doug to help me drive a car because I do not think anyone else would have the patience. You have seen me ride my motorcycle, after all."
"I have the harem of fast things because rather perversely, they tend to stay put." Scott closed his mouth, meekly. "Um. They're reliable, I mean." Oh, that was even worse.
There was a tiny bit of flailing as Wanda nearly dropped her coffee mug, a hand going to her mouth as she coughed and chocked. "Summers!" she gasped, shaking with disbelieving laughter and coughing.
Well, might as well have a little fun with it... "They're appreciative," he said mildly. "A little attention and the proper handling..."
"You must," she said, wiping tears out of her eyes, "have a death wish." Despite her words, Wanda looked amused, if slightly in pain. "If I have sinus problems due to coffee inhalation, I am billing you."
"Hey, you were the one with the unfortunate choice of imagery," Scott said, raising an eyebrow at her. "Consider this karmic retribution."
"Every man needs a harem, Scott...every woman for that matter." Wanda may be a bit cheeky but it was all part of her charm. "I have a harem of shoes, for that matter, which grows every chance I can make it grow. I'm a good harem leader, though, I love them all equally."
"Not into the whole harem thing," Scott said as the water shut off in the bathroom. "One woman man, me... or I was." He turned back towards the door. "And this man had better vamoose, just in case Ororo decides to come wandering out here in the altogether. I see you're wearing her robe."
"And I certainly am not telling if she has more than one." With one hand, she made a shooing motion while she drank her coffee. "I will try to stop by the next time I see Jennie. Take care, Scott."
