Logan goes looking for food in the craziness of the Thanksgiving Kitchen. Thankfully, Dani is in control for once and they make plans for that night.

Taking a break from cooking, Dani headed out into the cool fall air. Currently, the kitchen smelled mostly of broccoli (or broccoflower as the label had read) despite the stick on incense she had lit as well, and she needed to clear her nose. She liked broccoli, but sometimes, enough was enough. As it was, she had a few minutes before she had to begin the next dish. Her helpers could work without supervision for a while.

Logan was feeling the pangs of hunger, and the smells coming out of the kitchen were enough to make any man's mouth water. "Hey, Dani." he said upon spying the tall Indian girl. "Mind if I grab a little something then get out of your way?" he asked.

"Sure," she said, turning towards Mr. Logan, pulling her waist length hair down from its clip and begining to braid it into one long braid down her back, "But dinner will be ready in a few hours. I put the turkies in last night and they're almost done."

Logan shrugged. "Not really my thing, Thanksgiving. May come down later and grab some leftovers." he said apologetically. He moved past her and to the fridge, which he opened then whistled. "Little full in here." he said with a half-grin. But he found what he was looking for, and pulled out the packet of roast beef done up nice and bloody. Meat obtained, he grabbed the horseradish and mustard and mayo as well before closing the fridge and moving to the bread drawer.

"I'll save you a plate." she responded, watching him move. He had a grace about him that was surprising if you weren't expecting it. "I ain't gonna eat with everyone anyways. I'm having a small not-Thanksgiving feast. If you want to come."

Logan quirked an eyebrow. "Sure thing, kid." he said agreeably. He knew damned well why Dani would choose to sit out Thanksgiving, and to be honest he couldn't fault her. Felt right, having a little not-Thanksgiving meal. He found the bread and then halved what he was planning on making for himself. Wouldn't want to insult the cook by not eating, after all. "You want one?" he asked, finally remembering his manners. "More than enough here for two."

She shook her head, no, while pinning her braid back up on her head, "The good thing about cooking, you get to munch everything. 'An that pot," she pointed at a large cast iron stew pot, "has ind'n chili. Guarenteed to put hair on your chest."

Logan couldn't help but laugh at that. "I think I've overindugled if that's the case." he said. He did lean over and give the pot a good sniff. "Smells good." he said appreciatively, then went back to constructing himself a very simple sandwich. Bread, mustard, mayo, rare roast beef, and a generous dollop of horseradish. A good thing Marie was off being American, she _hated_ horseradish. "What time you want to meet up for dinner?" he asked her.

"Thanksgiving dinner is 4:30, so I was thinking about 5pm. Gives people time to get plates if they want food and whatever. I've got movies and whatever," Dani liked cooking, especially for a feast for something like Thanksgiving, but she objected to the holiday on principle, so she would make herself a plate and not eat with the others. "And I gotta make frybread still."

Logan nodded. "You providing for everyone, or you want people to bring stuff?" he asked. Of course, all he had right now was cigars and maybe beer, neither of which would go down well by Dani, but he had to ask.

"Nah, I got it," she gestured around the kitchen where almost every oven was in use and each counter section had a different dish being prepared, "It's all buffet, so people can just bring plates up if they want. You could bring drinks, if you want," she wasn't going to mention that they should be non-alcoholic. If he didn't know on his own, then they'd have Words. She was the RA on duty and this was open to everyone, not just him.

Logan quirked an eyebrow. "Fair enough." he said, and then collected his sandwich. "See you at five." he said with a grin, then moved past her again to head back up to his rooms. As he moved, his stomach growled audibly.

Dani smiled as he left, he seemed to be coming out of his funk, which was good. She had hated everything that had happened, but hadn't been able to think of another way. It had galled her. "see ya!" She turned and went to check on the turkey before starting a pie.
