Ororo and Kurt run into each other and catch up on the past few weeks. At least, Kurt shares.

His last class of the day was over, so Kurt started to head down towards the gym. Having not checked the journals in the last day or two, he was more than a little surprised - in the good way - to run into Ororo halfway there, and stood blinking at her for a moment.

"I did not know you were back!"

"Clearly I am getting better at sneaking around, then," Ororo said with a smile, happy to see Kurt out and about. "You are not the only one who can claim powers of elusiveness. How have you been, Kurt?"

"Somewhat better", he answered honestly. "Though I suppose it would have been hard not to be."

"I am very glad to hear that." She shifted somewhat stiffly, and glanced around them, then motioned to him to follow her. "Come, let us find a lounge in which we can sit and talk. I gather from the announcement on the journal that you have made an important change, and I would like to hear all about it."

"I would be happy to tell you", he said, following her willingly to the nearest vacant parlour.

Once they were settled on the most comfortable sofa in the room, Ororo lay one arm along the back and regarded Kurt curiously. "So, Mr. Sefton... would you care to share the story of your new name?"

"It is not such a very long story," he said with a slight shrug. "I no longer have any tie to those who first knew me by it, and... the name itself means nothing to me except that it was not Szardos. I can only guess it is my father's name, but since I have never known him and do not wish to... the change is to the name of the one person I can still call family."

"Every small gesture counts," Ororo murmured, tipping her head to one side. "I am sure Amanda was honored by the choice."

"A little startled, but yes, I think she was." He paused. "I do not know if it would have been so easy a decision if my name had been Szardos."

"It is funny, the paths life leads us down. They are rarely predictable or easily navigated. Still, Kurt, if you believe you made the right choice, then that is all that matters. And we would all love you just as much if your name was Smith, or Brown." Or even Darkholme. Still smiling, Ororo made a face as she shifted, her back twinging in protest of the movement.

"That much I know. But as Amanda always says, names are important." He eyed her at the sudden evidence of pain, frowning slightly. "Are you all right?"

"Sore," she said by way of explaination, her smile turning crooked. "But I am fine, thank you. I believe Scott has amended all the official paperwork with your new information, but is there anything else you need? Business cards? Stationery? I am sure Dani still has our order on file."

He blinked, having not thought about that part of it yet. "Um... business cards, I suppose. I do not use much stationery for official business."

"Very well. I am sure we will be able to take care of that without much fuss. Then you will be able to hand them out with aplomb." Ororo grinned, happy to be back discussing mundane things like business cards. It really was a pleasant change.

"And watch people who took the old ones blink", he said with a smile in return.
