Crystal and Kurt - Puzzled
Jan. 4th, 2007 03:00 pmKnowing that Kurt had a powers related accident while she was in Attilan, Crystal goes to see how he is doing. Upon seeing him, she recalls a conversation she had during her first month at the mansion and a few pieces fall into place.
Crystal waited for the last student to walk down the hallway before she stepped into the doorway of Mr. Sefton's classroom. She'd been away when the three posts about his powers-related accident had been posted by Dr. Grey-Summers. Something major must have happened to warrant a "delicate procedure," although clearly the procedure worked quickly and effectively if he had been released from the medlab within 24 hours.
Kurt looked up at some small sound in the doorway, sitting at his desk gathering his papers from the German class, and smiled at her. "Hello, Crystal. Can I help you?"
Crystal walked further into the classroom. "Hello, Mr. Sefton. I just wanted to see how you are doing. I was in Attilan during the break from school, but I read about your accident and I just wanted to make sure that you are all right."
"Oh!" The smile widened. "I am quite well now. But it is very kind of you to ask, thank you."
He didn't have any scars. It was quite hard to miss that fact. That must have been one unusual accident or perhaps it had been a very unusual procedure. Crystal was, of course, curious, but past experience at the mansion had taught her that asking questions of the staff members never worked out that well. "That is very good to hear," Crystal replied with a nod and a smile. "I am glad that you are fully recovered."
He nodded with a smile, picking up the sheaf of papers on his desk and standing, ready to leave the room. "Thank you again. Is there anything else I can do for you, while you are here?"
"No, that is all I needed to know," Crystal answered as things that had been said and not said on the journals and what was staring her in the face began to click into place. Powers related accident... not up to receiving visitors Dr. Grey-Summers had posted. She recalled answers given to a question back when she had asked them, before her natural questioning nature had been, for the most part, mentally beat out of her. Teleportation mishap... Not allowed visitors... Marius had said. "Thank you for your time. Have a great afternoon." With that, Crystal turned and left the classroom.
Kurt watched her go, a little confused and perhaps just a touch troubled, before he shook it off and followed her out.
