Backdated to Wednesday, Alex & Shiro
Jan. 13th, 2007 11:01 amAfter Kyle find outs about them Shiro returns to their room to break the news to Alex. Alex takes it much better and calms Shiro down.
Today, Alex had decided, was going to be a lazy day. He'd been out playing with Leyu and the kids out in the snow for the past few day, Crush tagging along, and even with the warming effect of his mutation, Alex forgot how cold it was at the mansion. So today his main goal was to stay warm. He was curled up on the couch, Crush on top of his feet and a movie on the TV in front of him. The only thing that would make this better would be when Shiro came back from the gym and joined him. Even if he couldn't get the other boy to show PDAs even in their common room for fear of Tommy coming through, he still enjoyed his best friend's company.
Shiro really didn't mean to slam the door behind him. It just kind of happened. At least it wasn't on fire, he thought grimly. Seeing Alex sitting on the couch, he winced and muttered an apology. He was tired and cranky and wanted to just sit down and relax, but he needed a shower first. He was sure that Kyle had run him through a lot more than was necessary because of his near explosion earlier. Bastard.
Having lived with Shiro for year, Alex didn't jump but the lumbering Golden did and promptly fell off the couch in a heap. Pausing for a moment to make sure his dog was alright, Alex then looked over at Shiro. "You alright bro?" Of course he wasn't but he had to ask. Standing up, he followed Shiro into their room, waiting expectantly for an answer.
There was no easy way to say it. Except a little voice in his head told Shiro that the only way to say it was easy and that he was just overreacting. The louder voice in his head promptly told it to shut up. As he carefully put away the t-shirt that Kyle had given him, he sighed and said: "Kyle knows." It almost sounded like it wasn't the end of the world.
Alex cocked his head to the side, his arms already crossed from leaning against the wall. "So? Kyle's a good guy, he won't tell anyone." He wasn't worried, he didn't care if anyone knew (except if they were Lorna or Scott of course), but he respected Shiro feelings about wanting to keep it private and could understand why. He made sure the door was closed before coming closer. "What happened?" He asked curiously since he knew Shiro hadn't told him.
Shiro barked a short laugh. "He smelled you all over me." It really was quite funny when he thought about it. "Apparently your odor is one of wax and surfboards." He looked up and nudged Alex with his elbow. "Telling him was one of the most terrifying moments of my life."
Alex couldn't help it, he grinned slightly. "Dude, did you doubt?" Oh right, feral mutation. Yeah that would do it. Still, he could tell how shaken Shiro was and came up behind him, hugging his arms around the other's waist. "You okay with it?" He asked softly, obviously concerned now.
"I . . . don't know." Shiro stiffened for a moment in Alex's arms, but then forced himself to relax, leaning against the young man behind him. It was eerie how comfortable this felt, and he wondered why this was such a big deal. There was no reason to blow it out of proportion. "They don't teach us how to have secret gay love affairs in the X-Men."
Leaning his chin on Shiro's shoulder, Alex was content to just hold him. He cherished every moment they had like this for many reasons, but one of the main ones was how Shiro seemed to fully relax, something that was really rare. Smilng, he chuckled softly again as he thought of what to say. "They don't teach it in Hawaii either. Surf yes, gay love affairs...nope." He stressed the important word in that sentence, quite aware this was the first time Shiro had ever said 'gay' out loud.
"You would think they would, given all the men running around shirtless and wet." Shiro shook his head and sighed again. He was being an idiot and Alex was too polite to point it out. The realization didn't make anything easier, and he was sure that should he confront this situation again he'd react exactly the same, but he found some small comfort knowing that once the revelation is made, little changes.
Yes, Alex was being polite because normally he wouldn't have a problem pointing it out, but he could tell right now just wasn't the time nor the subject. "Dude, one word. Bikinis." Grinning he kissed Shiro's cheek playfully before shoving him towards the shower. "Go shower, you stink. And then your going to come watch bad movies with me and Crush, just like old times." His tone was light yet firm, as if daring Shiro to oppose him.
"New times, too. You do not watch anything but bad movies." Shiro jumped out of Alex's arms and dashed for the bathroom before Alex could hit him.
