Several pairs of shoes find a new home, the art of shoe tossing is discussed, powers are used, and the fate of the furry monstrosities is decided. Let us not forget the most important thing of all, though.
"~I cannot believe that you threw shoes at someone in public with your hair!~" Crystal had been surprised to find out about her sister's "shopping spree" the previous day, but at the same time she was also quite amused. "~I hope that no one took a picture! That is all that needs to be shown on any sort of media form!~"
"~Well, what else should I have done? Allowed him to gain closer access to Mark or myself?~" Medusa picked up a pair of black Prada pumps, checking the size before setting them next to another pair she'd selected for Amanda. "~Hopefully there are no pictures, though it is getting harder to avoid them with phone cameras now.~"
"~It sounds to me like he was not interested in you, and that he did not want to cause any physical harm to Mark.~" Crystal grinned as she spoke and examined a pair of heels, deciding to try them on. ~No, you did what needed to be done. I can only imagine the headline or story title of this, though. 'Crazed Mutant Uses Hair to Toss Shoes at Escaped Mental Patient'.~" Yes, the heels fit! "~I suppose that title is too long.~"
"~Hopefully there were no camera phones, though I would not be surprised to see something in the rags about it. If I am lucky they will focus more on who I was with than on what I was doing.~" Medusa smiled as Crystal examined the shoes she'd just put on. "~Those are very cute and would look fabulous with that skirt you picked up the last time you were home.~"
"~Despite his apparent fanbase, I doubt that any tabloids are interested in stories about a club DJ unless they think that DJ is involved with someone who does interest them.~" Crystal stood and took a few steps, getting a feel for the shoes. "~I will recall your shoe fight whenever I wear these shoes,~" Crystal added with a grin.
"~I do not know if that is a good thing,~" Medusa said, but there was a smile on her face. "~I can still barely believe I did that. I do not think it is something I am apt to forget in this lifetime.~" Not that others would let me forget. "~Still, in all the chaos I managed to find the perfect shoe.~"
"~Hopefully, Mark and the other people who work at Snow Valley know what Blackagar looks like and Mark can flee before Blackagar decides to speak with him,~" Crystal laughed, lightly teasing her sister. "~Perhaps you can offer to teach a class in the art of shoe tossing; it is sure to strike fear in the hearts of evildoers everywhere. The final exam: How to find and protect the perfect shoe from the masses of other shoes to be used as projectile weapons.~"
Medusa mock-threateningly held up a shoe before giggling. "~Blackager knows better than to be worried about Mark. Or anyone." She smiled and glanced over at a picture of the prince hanging on the wall. "~As for a shoe defense class...well, it was surprisingly effective. I think Mark made a good point - when in a situation, utilize your surroundings. And I was surrounded by shoes.~"
Crystal removed the shoes and set them aside, then gave Medusa a solemn look. "Sim. You were awesome!!" she told Medusa, copying one of Mark's statements from his journal post about the defense of his honor, then promptly dissolved into giggles.
Picking up some of the tissue paper from one of the shoe boxes, Medusa balled it up and threw it at her sister. "~And what would you have done? Blasts of winds would've tossed just as many shoes around in the air.~"
The wadded up tissue paper smacked into an invisible wall and dropped down onto the bed next to Crystal. Crystal gave the paper a brief glance and it began to swirl about in the air, then made a beeline for Medusa. "~I have control. I do not need to create excessive amounts of wind in order to protect myself. That is simply my easiest and most natural defensive mechanism.~"
A lock of hair flashed out to wrap itself around the paper and then moved to drop it in the trash, while Medusa clapped her hands, a look of approval on her face. "~Excellent. Though in times of stress, it may be hard to maintain that control. How has your work with the other aspects of your powers been?~"
Crystal cupped her hands and held them out as drops of water several inches above her palms. "~Everything involving the use of all aspects of my powers is going quite well. Is there anything in this room you would like for me to set on fire?~" she added with an innocent look at Medusa as the rain stopped as quickly as it had started.
"~Perhaps those~," Medusa said, pointing at the abominable furry pair that had been tossed at her by the crazy man. "~They might look better charred.~"
"~Oh, but they are so soft, imagine the look of joy on someone's face when they receive that pair of shoes!~" Crystal replied, grinning. She uncupped her now-empty hands and began searching for another pair of shoes to try on.
The look on Medusa's face could best be termed disgust. Strands of hair whipped out to grab the shoes and stick them in a box, closing the lid and moving the box to sit by the door. "~That will be the start of the donate pile.~" Seeing a pair of red ballet flats, she pushed the box over to Crystal. "~These would look cute on you.~"
"~You could have told the store to keep that pair, but yes, I agree, those shoes are horrendous. Now those, on the other hand...~" Crystal lifted the shoes out of the box and slipped them onto her feet.
