Log: Remy/Ororo
Mar. 23rd, 2007 03:15 pmFollowing 10th Kingdom, Remy and Ororo make plans to spend the weekend away.
Remy sat forward gingerly, the two ice packs strapped to his back making him hiss from the cold. He'd been fine for about a day after leaving San Francisco, and then his back had tightened up from where he'd been bounced off the floor. No more non-lethal fighting with the superstrong he vowed, as he thumbed open his cell phone and called into Ororo's office.
"Stormy? Salut?"
"Ororo Munr-- oh, hello, Remy." The woman's voice warmed as she greeted the Cajun, and she momentarily turned away from the purchase orders she had been wrestling with. The things were absolutely beastly - she made a mental note to beg Dani to take a look at them later. "How are you?"
"I feel like some superstrong femme wit' de power to absorb mutant abilities tossed me at high speed over a wooden floor and den into a pillar. Can't imagine why..." Remy hissed as he straightened up.
"As they say, you should choose your enemies wisely, but your friends even more so. You never know when one may suddenly entertain the idea of using you as a human projectile." Despite her teasing words, Ororo frowned in concern, wishing that she had had more time with Remy that week than the brief minutes after he had dropped Marie off. "You sound as if you could use a rest."
"Dat is something of an understatement, chere." Remy said, only half hiding the slight groan. "How are Marie and Shiro? Dey all recovered from dere weekend in San Fran?"
"Yes, well enough. The Professor has been helping Marie through the difficulties of her faulty shielding, and I think they are both glad to be back. Understandably so."
"Remind me not to head out wit' you X-Men again. You all play too rough for Remy." He said, although Ororo could hear the slight shift in his voice. Obviously he had been calling to follow up on the two of them, and for Remy, a slight tonal variation was the same as a sigh of relief.
"Or perhaps you are just getting too old. We will make sure to only call you for missions involving nursing homes and pudding factories." There was a slight pause as Ororo turned back to her computer, calling up her next week's schedule and perusing it thoughtfully. "How does your weekend look, by the way? I am of half a mind to declare an impromptu vacation, considering the way the past few weeks have gone for both of us."
"Remy hate pudding." LeBeau muttered as he checked his files. "Looks like I can make it free. I have to be out of de country a little next week, but dere's nothing dat I can't push off. What did you have in mind?"
"Be ready to leave tomorrow evening and I will come get you. Make sure to bring something nice to wear." Ororo smirked, hoping he wouldn't press her to reveal any more of her cunning plan.
"De only way dat would sound better is if you asked me to bring nothing to wear."
"Patience, mpenzi. Patience."
